Forums - Nintendo - Is Nintendo killing core gaming?

@ Naum, of course 1st party Wii games are making money, but what about the rest (3rd party)

Since most 3rd party games are crap with little to almost no developing time they better make a prfit and even if it doesn't it won't be millions of losses.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

That reminds me of when I felt bitter about manga becoming mainstream, I wasn't so specially unique in liking it anymore.

Really, I'd love for my grandma to have played games instead of discussing every person in the neighbourhood or for my niece to do so instead of having a world limited to a bunch of Disney princesses. Sure I probably wouldn't like the games they picked but I'm glad it'd give them an introduction that might lead somewhere interesting.

Casual flash games managed to get my parents into some gaming that wasn't minespeeper or solitaire, and they are also pretty fond of the Wii, my mum is hogging my Trauma Center games.

This article is pretty much a bitch-fit about the Wii's and DS's success and how the writer thinks gaming is suffering because of it.

Honestly.. how can you blame Nintendo for Guitar Hero's success or that Soul Calibur 4 and Virtual Fighter 5 are mediocre compared to their last iterations.

Pixel Art can be fun.

How can Nintendo Kill what they don't even care about anymore?

^^^True dat

This is either a joke, a just a pathetic attempt to save face for one or two consoles that are performing less than great in the market.

Either way, the article is lame. Bringing in more gamers can never be a bad thing, and if you think it is, I'd love to hear why. Because the core gamers haven't left, and now there are new gamers on top of them. So please, illustrate the HORRORS of having new gamers in the market.
