They can put a "back to the old version" button in the home page; so the users can choose wich version of the website they want to visit...

@Tarhell: i know they worked a lot on this, but A LOT of users want the old version the "back to the old version" button can be a solution

Tell you what. You write the code allowing us to do that, send it to ioi, I'm sure he'll put it in.

I love how everybody is firing off ridiculous suggestions that will take a lot of work for not much gain.

Honestly, what the hell is wrong with this site? If it's too wide, zoom out. If you don't like the colour scheme, tough. Bear with it for now, we might be able to choose in the future. But I don't understand, are you all fairies or pixies or something? Do you fly around fields and hug rabbits all day, that you can't stand to look at a dark colour? It's a fucking colour scheme. And a very good one, imo.

I don't really care about the colors, the interface is bad and the site is a lot more taxing on older computers.

I'm confused.

White and bright blue doesn't hurt your eyes, but black and dark grey does? Dark colours are much easier on the eyes.

If that is the case then please explain to me how every single professional website on the world wide web has a white background?  I cannot think of a single one that doesn't have a white background.  I am a lawyer so spend alot of time researching on the internet and when I am not busy I visit sites foe leisure.

Some of the sites I I visit off the top of my head wth white background:  The Lawyer, Lexis Nexis, Google, Yahoo, Guardian, Independent, Times, Facebook, Companies House Direct, Current Legal Information.

Those with non-white background:  Roll on Friday

Roll on Friday is a gossip site about what's going on in the legal profession.  So I come across one single site without a white background and it's probably the least professional site.  Coincidence?  I certainly don't think so.  Even that website doesn't have a dark background.  It has orange.

This is a gaming site, not a law site.

http://www.gamespot.com

http://www.metacritic.com

http://www.ign.com

None of them have white backgrounds.

I think it would be pretty stubborn to ignore suggestions from users who are just trying to be helpful.

They are requesting things which are not easy to do, and which would serve to gain very little.

I think that the code for VGChartz 1.0 still exist,2.0 is the new code (with a LOT of effort from the vgc team). So I can not see what`s the problem?

A VGC 1.0 button can be implemented, and everyone will be happy. You like 2.0? Keep it. You don`t like it? Push the button.

This is 2009,not 1970.

Yes, but the two websites would have to exist simultaneously. So you'd need two domains, which is twice the cost. And news stories and forums would have to be on both sites.

They would be entirely separate. It wouldn't be possible. This thread would exist on one site, but not the other.

The type of site is irrelevant to the issue being discussed which is whether dark background or light background is easier on the eyes.  If all these major websites with crazy internet traffic are using light colours rather than dark colours surely they must be on to something namely that it is easier on they eyes and more attractive.  And I just went to ign and the background looked white to me (just as I recalled it).  So basically we have ignored the major websites of the world and gone for the background of gamespot and metacritic.  Exciting!!!
