PS3 will out sale it, given 360s dependence on one market its unavoidable.

the way the sales are going now it sure does look like the ps3 will take over the 360 eventually. the 360 cannot sustain a good lead over the ps3 even when its half the price all around the world! its simple and easy to see really. anyone who says otherwise is a fanboy who loves sales and just doesnt want to see his favourite console getting hammered! whats gonna happen when the ps3 gets a price cut worldwide? what are microsoft gonna do then? its already so cheap to the point where another price cut wouldnt really affect anything! unless they somehow cut the price in half again but how the hell can they make the 360 $100?

Only problem for people claiming 360 is half the price of the PS3 also seem to not notice that the average price of the 360 was $270 last month. Previous months have been at averages even higher.

Not yet dude. We're still in the second "PS3 is doomed" part of the gen.

PS3 will heavily outsell XBox 360 and it will overtake it during 2011 and pull away from it console sales. PS3 will end up with over 70 million life time sales. 360 will sell below 50 million lifetime sales.

By August 31, 360 will have around 8.0 million to 8.1 million lead over PS3. 13 weeks * 10k = 130k add to 7.97 million = 8.1 million lead.  8. 1 million assuming no sales adjustments are made. 8.0 million assuming sales adjustments are made

PS3 price cut as of September 1 will change things dramatically when PS3 hits the magical $299 price tag and the PS3 will outsell the 360 over the last 16 weeks of the year including Xmas sales by around 125k to 150k units on average every week. The gap will be dropped by 2 to 2.5 million down to 5.5 million to 6 million 360 sales lead over PS3.

PS3 in the following 80 weeks will erase the gap completely back to parity with 360 by mid 2011(March 2011 to July 2011). PS3 will outsell 360 on average by 70k to 80k in weekly sales. The sales will of 360 and PS3 should both pass the 45 million sales mark at the same time. However PS3 will continue to sell faster than the Xbox 360 with further price cuts and more exclusive console selling games will push PS3 well in front of the 360. 360 will be discontinued around 2012 and the PS3 gap over it will widen further.

Another thing that will hurt the PS3.

At E3 2010 or the latest E3 2011. The first announcement for the next gen consoles will happen. At this time the PS3 will be still at $299 or will be just reduced to $199.95. Truly when consoles sell the most is when they are sub $200. The 360 has only partially hit that price point.

When the press talking about the next gen. Consumers will begin focusing on next gen and current gen sales will start to slow and he consoles that slow the most will be the most expensive. A $99 or $129 360 Pro will kick the tail of of $299 or $199 PS3. The 360 will still be leading at this time and the lead will just grow.
