PS3 price cut as of September 1 will change things dramatically when PS3 hits the magical $299 price tag and the PS3 will outsell the 360 over the last 16 weeks of the year including Xmas sales by around 125k to 150k units on average every week. The gap will be dropped by 2 to 2.5 million down to 5.5 million to 6 million 360 sales lead over PS3.
PS3 in the following 80 weeks will erase the gap completely back to parity with 360 by mid 2011(March 2011 to July 2011). PS3 will outsell 360 on average by 70k to 80k in weekly sales. The sales will of 360 and PS3 should both pass the 45 million sales mark at the same time. However PS3 will continue to sell faster than the Xbox 360 with further price cuts and more exclusive console selling games will push PS3 well in front of the 360. 360 will be discontinued around 2012 and the PS3 gap over it will widen further.
I predict a 20 million consoles sales ltd for PS3 victory over 360
