Forums - Nintendo - Official The Conduit Thread

I was going to wait a bit before getting this game, but seeing the IGN review, the pics, videos...I can't wait. Why must I wait until tomorrow??? WHY???

I haven't been this excited for a game since No More Heroes release!

Op has reviews updated, any new ones I have missed feel free to post them and I will add them to the OP ASAP.

Oh, I'll be sure to inform you of any new reviews, Maxwell, you thread thief.

No, I'm kidding :p, Gametrailers is gotta be coming up soon.

Still haven't been able to secure a copy yet.  Fred Meyers has let me down.

Okami

To lavish praise upon this title, the assumption of a common plateau between player and game must be made.  I won't open my unworthy mouth.

For what it's worth, l've seen several ads on Teletoon for this around 10:30 PM the last few nights.

Hopefully I'll get this soon.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Gamereactor - 7/10 -
Plus:
Great controls, fun and varied weapons, intense online mode
Minus:
Boring, linear singleplayer mode, almost no bosses, pointless story

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Thanks megaman OP updated :)

-edit-

LOL at the negatives I think that about most FPS games though I enjoy the ones with good online and I LOVE the ones with strong SP and MP.

the conduit should not have single player... that way would have stellar reviews.

I had a thread on this but MaxwellGT2000 closed is down and asked me to repost it here.

Got to play the Conduit for a couple hours yesterday - here are my initial impressions.

Yep, it's fun.

It is a pretty straight forward run and gun (just the way I like it). Some crouching here and there for cover but there's usually some health drops so you can often barrel through if you're a good shot.

Looks great. Very polished presentation. Had one bug (guy died by didn't fall down because of a wall) but otherwise a great experience. I can tell I'm already going to want to play through the story mode again (and again) partly to find stuff with ASE and partly to do it harder and partly just 'cause it's fun. Graphics are as beautiful as can be hoped for on Wii.

Controls - Excellent. The default is perfect unless you hate waggle. Might remap melee attacks because I don't always get that to respond but, ironically, always do when I need to (probably because I'm excited and putting more umph into it). Throwing grenades is perfect. That Gamepro idiot reviewer didn't know what he was doing.

Multiplayer - not many on. Had a group of 5. Ran perfectly, no lag. One of the HVS staff was on - cool. Kicked ass though.

I'm rusty at my FPS as hell but The Conduit is as fun as I had hoped. Great title for Wii owners (from what I've played so far).

Thanks for the impressions. I asked this question on the gametrailers forums, and see if you can answer it for me.Does the game have different difficulty Settings? If it does would it be better to enjoy the game on the higher settings. What would you rate the game so far. Getting the game today. Thanks.

To be honest, I didn't actually check for different difficulties I just assumed they are there under options or something.   They had better be because it starts off pretty easy.    I died 5 times, but that's only because I havn't played a FPS seriously for years and I'm really rusty.

It's a little early to rate the game.   But to rate what I played so far - Fun - 9, Graphics - 9.5, Controls - 10 (since you can change anything to suit), Story - 6, Voice acting/sound effects - 9   Overall 8.6  - lol   I think IGN got this one right.   It's a fun FPS and the best on Wii but nothing you havn't played before, just havn't played it on Wii before.

Thanks Gamerace, could you check for the different difficulties. I have heard that the AI is a lot harder.
