fkusumot I was so make a point. Since gamecube so much software and so little hardware, by omnimusha's logic, the GC must be the biggest success.

I wouldn't trust vgchartz's total game sales, although I'm sure their weekly reports are pretty accurate. Some PSP games show 0 sales in Europe, which is clearly untrue because I have bought them :)
I just translated the g-para article myself (using babel fish and google's tools) and it looks like the new PSP model sold 130,000 units on day one. The old PSP model sold about 20k units last week (most PSP hardware was sold w/ FF last week), so off the top of my head (and before the prelim data comes in), it looks as if PSP could move 200k this week in Japan.

sounds good TheSource. I think Sony needs to step it up in advertising the new PSP and its video out feature.

It's not entirely true. I think PSP is an offer also for people who don't want to pay for games at all. They bougth the system only because it's pirated. Only Sony makes money on them. They shouldn't be perceive as potential game buyers. I'm pretty sure all fair PSP owners buy as much games as users of other systems. If PSP pirated proof we will have same figures for software. Hardware would be at 15 million though. Probably you would feel a bit better with 4:1 attach ratio but it would change nothing. Expect lack of an extra cash for Sony for extra 8 million units (also memory sticks etc.) sold. |
DS is a lot, and I mean A LOT easier to be pirated than ANY OTHER current-gen device. Try again.

Can ya teach it me?
And that's the result of 5min of Googling, and knowing something like this existed in the first place. Apart from the costs involved, this doesn't exactly qualify as hard at the moment - it really couldn't get any easier.

Are your really so dumb? It's not about hacking the system... You have to get games somehow. That's the difficult part. On PSP with torrent client you can access to everything... DS force you to use cartridges (with pirated games). It's not so easy to find someone who will offer this stuff to you... I'm shocked.
