Hell no. Something with as many bugs and framerates issues as Mass Effect can not possibly be given that title. It's also funny given that RPGs are known for having long, endearing stories. The story isn't bad, but it'll only take you 10 hours to beat.

I stand by the statement that Mass Effect isn't even in my top 5 RPGs this generation. In 2007, Mass Effect wasn't close to the GOTY. I know for sure that both Bioshock and Call of Duty 4 won more awards.

 

 Mass effect had horrendous technical problems but even so it still averaged at above 90 and that really says something for a game being reviewed in a time where being at least competent in glitch control or fixing most technical problems is a must to even get an 80+.

 

If mass effect 2 fixes these problems and adds to the franchise then there is no doubt that it will average

Mass Effect on PC fixed a ton of those problems. I played both many times, and if they bring the PC updates to the 360 version of ME 2 it will be fantastic

I think now..With the Following the game has that they will work on making the 360 version "fixed" I doubt the PC sold more than the 360...

I know. But I find that reviewers are far too forgiving on WRPGs than on JRPGs. It seems they get deducted a point or two just for being Japanese.

And I'm not saying Mass Effect is a bad game, I really liked it. But the thought of everyone assuming it was GOTY or auto best RPG was very amusing.

Unlikely.  It's far more plausible that he's stuck staring at Tali's foxy hips.

 

The most plausible scenario is that he's in an elevator and its taking forever... Or possibly running down a hallway.

I was thinking he'd be stuck at the blue biotic lady(forgot her name) shes da** near impossible to kill as a Soldier.

 

Matriarch Benezia!!!! God she was annoying as a soldier.... I just kept on being out flanked, and bloody Tali would just die instantly, though having played the entire game with her and Wrex, I am just used to seeing her lifeless body on the battlefield at the start of the battles

And the Normandy has the slowest elavator ever!!! It might actually be a good thing that it appears to be destroyed in the second teaser

Tali was useless. I only used wrex, Ashley or Garrus. Ashley is an amazing shot if you give her a good rifle and Garrus is the most potent sniper in the game.

i agree its being hyped alot for being potentialy a good time away from being released. i how ever dont think its the best rpg this gen, why? because its more of a action/rpg than a actual rpg. also "lost odyssey" is the best rpg this gen. i will get mass effect 2 when it comes out, but i can wait till next year.

@ stage, I'm going for the ally achievements, and as I am a soldier, and Wrex is awesome, Tali is basically the only other option
