Because it is a bit hasty to say it is going to be the best game of the year without really knowing anything about it, especially with Final Fantasy XIII coming that year too, Mr Final Fantasy avatar

I've decided to start a new Mass Effect game, I was considering getting to level 50 on my old game, but I just want to start afresh, rush through the game on easy, then go through on hardcore and then insanity

Thats like saying Half-Life 3 may not be absolutely amazing just because we haven't heard much about it. Considering the greatness of Mass Effect 1, and the Pedigree of BioWare, its easy to say that one expects it to be GOTY for whatever year it comes out. 

 



GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

Well you can't say it is going to be better than everything else out there without knowing anything about it. I expect it to be good, I'll be buying it day 1, but I am not going to go as far as to call it the 2010 game of the year

Maybe, but since Mass Effect was such a great game, I'm not especially worried that Mass Effect 2 will be downright bad.  Besides, when's the last time a really hyped game turned out to be terrible?

They should spend more time hyping Dragon Age, it looks awesome and its right around the corner!

I'm sure a few people thought so, but wasn't the bulk of the criticism against GTA IV due to its being ridiculously overrated rather than just being plain crap?

It is being hyped because it is one of the most aniticipated unveilings at E3. I cannot wait to see the gameplay.
