Sorry mate, but where have you been the last 7 months?

The Wii lineup since October has bee shaping up in an impressive way.

A guided role playing experience

(That was not Wii-bashing, it was a reference to Dead Space if you didn't get it)

I think Dragon Quest Swords is somewhat a guided action RPG, so it did happen before.

The wii is in serious need of a good wrpg. The closest thing they have to one would be no more herpes- though it's japanese theme is hard to overlook

an oblivionesque game would be awesome

An Elder Scrolls style game with Wii Motion Plus controls would be unreal. Here's hoping...

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

Yes, I think it needs some aids from third parties in that genre. Nintendo doesn't make WRPGs.

I HAVE A DOUBLE DRAGON CAB IN MY KITCHEN!!!!!!

NOW A PUNISHER CAB!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"I wouldn’t sit and play an 18-rated game with my family on the Wii. Is there space in the Wii market for that? I think there is, but again, it’ all about finding out how big that is. Is it 5 per cent? If it’s five per cent of the market and you can own that space it’s worth doing because you can achieve volume. If you can’t own it at five per cent, it’s not worth doing, quite frankly."

My interpretation of that is:
- He thinks there is a market for 18-rated games on the Wii
- Need to find out how big that market is, possibly 5 percent?
- However big the market is, you need to "own" (sell to IMO) the whole market
- If you manage to own that market, there is enough room for a lot of sales
- If you can't sell to the whole market, not worth bringing out 18-rated games

Five percent of Americas and Others install base is about 2 million. I think Bethesda will be aiming for about that much in sales for their new game, and use that benchmark to determine if they should bring out future Wii games.

# of games above 75 on Metacritic (including downloadable):

360: 241     DS: 144

PS3: 152     PSP: 126

Wii: 85
