I have loved both of the games on the PS3 but i think i will be realistic and put 1.4-1.6 million LTD

I think it will do better then R&C: TOD becuase it will have trophies and probably some form of multiplayer.

So, perhaps in the 1.6-2.0 million region.

It will without a doubt be a long way to getting to the 2 million mark, if it does make it that far anyway!

I think it will depend a lot on whether Sony drop the PS3 price to $299 or not.

Ratchet has a more casual appeal compared to other Sony exclusives. I should think a lot of people who bought Ratchet on the PS2 haven't got a PS3 because they are the sort of people who don't spend $399 on a PS3. Therefore I predict:

Without price-cut: 1.8M

With price-cut: 2.1M

I will say that the game has potential to reach 2 million. My opinion on why tools of destruction had a harder time has way to many possible factors to really give it clear answer.
