So if you hi-jacked a car and picked up some prostitutes, would GTA cease to be a game?

 

People have done those things in Real life....Alot...

 

For the people who have, games based on those themes, are apparently hardly games at all.

why does an outselling have to be a heated topic...let Halo ODST sell more or less, But great games will remain great

OK, So what's your point? An expansion from a Famous game VS 2 new IPS and a sequel.

Developing Halo ODST that will sell a lot of software is important but for me creating a new fanbase to sell your games is more important. Let's say inFAMOUS and Heavy Rain manage to sell millions and gain profit. Sony have succeded in creating a new fanbase. So those people who enjoy it will demand a sequel and since it sold well the developers will make a sequel. Since it's a sequel, developers will not start from scratch. They will just re-use their engine, make an upgrade to the game = profit.

Who cares if it sells more? The movie Pearl Harbour sold well...do I need to say more? If gaming (which is art in my opinion) was all about selling the most copies then I for one wouldn`t play games. Of course it`s about money, but it`s also art. Don`t even try to deny it.

No shit! I mean it is Halo. If it does outsell them all congratulations and if it doesn't then it will sell Millions either way and still be succesful.

I'm still waiting for a dedicated Halo Kart game to come out. Granted it wont sell like MK Wii but it will still do fantastic numbers lol.

So what, do you own a stock in Microsoft? Your saying that just because a game sold more means that its better? Then your saying Wii Sports is the best game of all time(better then Zelda: OOT). BTW I dont think it will outsell it either.
