Forums - Nintendo - Recommend me a WiiWare game

No scene. I liked the concept of LIT and aside from it's length and some design issues i heard it's a pretty good game. I haven't played sam and max, but would you say it's kind of king's quest-ish?

Not really. If anything, it's much closer to the Lucasarts adventure games than Sierra's, but even then there are some marked differences. For starters, the puzzles tend to make (comparatively) more sense, so you rarely beat your head for hours trying to figure out how to get past the evil witch in the forest. Also, you can never die: you might fail a puzzle, but you'll never get a game over. Most importantly, the sense of humor is slightly less nerdy and more mainstream, although not by a whole lot.

Too bad, you already have the best two WiiWare games. If you're into multiplayer, Bomberman is great.

Tomorrow Swords & Soldiers comes to europe. I hope it will be great.

Also, don't buy Lost Winds. It's boring and repetitive, even though it's incredibly short.

FFCC: My Life as a King

Why:  I haven't set this game down for 3 straight days now.  It is very addictive, and makes you want to get the next upgrade.  The graphics are very, very good for a wiiware game.  The controls are easy to get a hang of, and the length is endless.

Why not: The only reason I wouldn't get this game is the price.  1500 points is quite a bit for wiiware, but the games length makes up for it.

Lost Winds

Why: Artstyle and Gameplay are very imaginative.  The game is beautiful, and there is no other game like it that I've seen.  If I was to say there was a favorite wiiware game... this would be it.  The background music is perfect for this game and it's style.

Why not:  The length of it leaves you wanting more, but Lost Winds 2 is coming out so.  The length is not that big of a deal.

Helix

Why:  It is under appreciated, because of the type of game it is.  I have a great time tring new songs and dance methods.  If you don't mind moving around this game is a ton of fun

Why not: It requires two remotes, and exercise games aren't for everyone

I love Dr. Mario. Even though I haven't gotten the WW version it looks pretty decent. It also has online play.

Seth, you are missing out. The online rivals Mario Kart Wii, COD WAW, MOH:H2 for best on the Wii. Get this immediately and send me your friend code :)

The Tetris WW game is also good, and has more Teris variations than one can really play through (including balance board), but it's online is a 9 out of 10 compared to Dr Mario's 10 out of 10.

BAM! There it is!

Wii Code 3456 7941 4060 2924
COD MW Reflex 541192229709

Lostwinds

@Blunty51: I'm not very good at giving scores, but I think it deserves a 7 out of ten; mostly for easing up on the difficulty significantly compared to the rest of the franchise, but it's also kind of short and if you've played a ton of Gradius it may seem dull since it summarizes the series as a whole rather than trying to tread new ground, with just a few new levels thrown in (and some modifications of pre-existing levels). The music is absolutely fantastic though, and really gets you in the mood for shooting cores.

*Gratuitous falme-bait signature that mocks two or more consoles while praising another*

Okay, I'll have to d/l it next week.  I'll send you my FC once I get it.

Cool scene. I think I have enough information from everyone here to make a decision....will make it out by next week...

Specials thanks to everyone that helped me out here.

oh what are you leaning towards?

well i'm thinking of getting tiki towers for it's price point and similarity (however small) to world of goo

I might hold off on Lostwinds because of the mixed feedback
FFCC is more like a sim I believe? If it were more like an RPG i would have given it a shot
Dr. Mario, Bomberman & Tetris, because I have played older versions of these i would hold off for now as well. The multiplayer doesn't grab me much at the moment.
I'll pass on Strong bad because i ain't really a fan of the comics
uhh what did i miss out..

anyway i'm leaning towards Orbient and LIT
