why should gamers be equally rewarded for playing Avatar: The Last Airbender for two minutes as they are for trekking through Oblivion for dozens upon dozens of hours?

i really dont understand this part...regardless of the system it would of had the same rewards as any other game.   if on playstation, avatar would of had the same amount of trophies as any other game...and equally retarded goals.

Beat me to it because I got to wordy... Yeah, the person writing the article expertly illustrated their complete ignorance of the topic.  They tried to be professional, but came off as a mewling fanboy.   Someone got ruffled because "Sony wasn't doing somethign as well as Microsoft", so they went off half-cocked and made an ass out of themselves with misinformation.

You'e right. They aren't doing it as well.. they're doing it better. Trophies > Achievements in my.. and aparently a great number of other peoples opinion.

i would wager money that more people think achievements>trophies than the other way around.

MrBubbles Review Threads: Bill Gates, Jak II, Kingdom Hearts II, The Strangers, Sly 2, Crackdown, Zohan, Quarantine, Klungo Sssavesss Teh World, MS@E3'08, WATCHMEN(movie), Shadow of the Colossus, The Saboteur

what i like about trophies is that they are hard(er) to get.

and Achievements came first and is universal unlike trophies, IMO that's the only reason to like it more. otherwise they are the exact same thing.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Yeah, exactly. They're identical except for the way they're displayed. That's why these fights are always so funny.

And those people are affected in some way, since they are basing their opinion on mindless console cronyism, bias, and a complete ignorance to the topic.

It's sad, really...  Trophies = Achievements, just not as well executed or implemented.  As I said, Sony may get up to speed, but otherwise there has to be somethign wrong with you to support the argument in the OP.

lol that post contains major fail. First you call me out on being biased and then you proove you are the same. It's widely recognised that trophies are atleast as well, if not better executed than achievements.

To be juvenile for a moment: by "widely recognized", do you mean that you're overweight?  Because you seem to be the only one ascribing to this delusion.  I've got both systems, and I'm pretty sure only one game on my PS3 gives trophies, and I wouldn't even be able to tell you where to go to confirm that.  Why?  Poor implementation.

Hell, just the fact that the thing has been on the market 2 years before trophies started would be a pretty cut and dry indicator of the implementation quality.

You're blind fanboyism negates any purpose in attempting an actual logical discussion.  The fact that you care about whether or not your trophies are better than achievements negates the ability to consider you a rational individual.

bla bla bla. It's 1 year not two.

And no I am not. If you must know i'm 190cms and around 90 kilos. Obviously it's pointless to argue with you because of your fanboyism. All games you've started on your ps3 will automatically be added to your "trophy games" so to speak. The ones that support the feature that is. And you might only have one, but i have around 15.

Why do I know this ? because I unlike you, actually try things before making assumptions. Yes i've also played the 360. You might have both consoles, but it's obvious that you haven't put time into exploring your machine.

The fact that you reply to me shows me that you must care atleast as much as I perhaps more, because my reply is just to keep this thread alive :p
