last time 2nd & 3rd place consoles sold 24 & 21 million respectively

So xbox 360 is expanding the market as it sold more than 24 million (2nd place)....its at 30 million

so its expanded the market by 6 million

PS3 has passed the gamecube & should expand the market from now on

ITs only the wii that hasn't begun to expand the market yet....it will when it passes PS2 if ever.

You kind of stated something that's true, but at the same time incredibly obvious and not much of an accomplishment at all.

Wii has sold 49.53 million
360 has sold 30.22 million
PS3 has sold 22.14 million

Also... in alligned launches, Wii is tracking way higher than PS2.
To say Wii hasnt expanded the market is stupid.

but so far all I'm saying is that xbox & maybe PS3 are expanding the 3rd & 2nd place markets at a much greater rate than wii is the PS2 market

people don't see how well the xbox 360 actually is doing....its already expanded the 2nd place "market" by 6 million consoles

Audiences don't work like that.
There is no "2nd place market", or "3rd place market"

Do you really believe that all PS3 owners were part of the Gamecube audience, and the expansion comes from new gamers?
Or that all Wii owners came from the PS2?

It is more like a big part of the PS2 audience shared between the PS3 and the X360, most of the xbox audience staying with the 360, and another part of the PS2 audience buying a Wii.
The actual new gamers, the real expanded audience, is highly Wii-centered.

No th pS3 is doin the oposite of xpanding the market becase my frends and me al had gamecubes but non of us own a PS3/

This would only work if there would be people who say stuff like: ''we always buy the console in second place!'', or: ''we always get the one in third!''
It doesn't work that way.

And oh yeah, this argument will be pointless when the Wii eventually DOES outsell the PS2.

But it's still stupid.
