Forums - Gaming - So what is with Ghostbusters exclusitivity? Sony I'm confused.

So the release of Ghostbusters game is as follows.

America = All systems on the same day. 360, PS3, PC and Wii.

Japan = All systems on the same day. ( As above )

Europe = PS3 first, with other systems to follow 6 months later.

Why did Sony only get exclusitivity for Europe? Do they think America is already lost and didnt want to pay out for that?

Just dont get it. Ghostbusters is huge in America, and thats where the impact would have been the most. This to me is all very confusing. I live in Europe so it's gonna affect me as a 360 owner. But for the majority of console owners everywhere around the world you can buy it day 1 on whatever you own.

"Sony released these images of Ghostbusters, not all new as far I can tell. Why Sony you may think? Sony announced this week that they would publish the game in Europe, meaning that both 360 and Wii versions are at least for the moment not going to be released there. In other territories the game will be released as announced before on all platforms simultaneously."

America would have been bigger for them than Europe, its confusing why they didnt go for both regions.

Maybe Atari needed Sony's help distributing it in Europe?

Do you recall Rock Band's launch?

PS3 and 360 version launched the same time in NA.

In Europe it was released as a timed exclusive for the 360. 5 months later it launched on the PS3.

I presume it's an effort to rope in new gamers.
