Forums - Nintendo - Wii's lack of headset thus far....WTF?

Play with some nerds on a PC game later at night...and yeah, it's usually pretty respectful...it only gets bad when everybody knows how to play the game, so idiots come in and wreck the fun.

TF2 is brand new, so everybody's having fun and learning how to play, being respectful and working together over the voice chat...that's the way it should be.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Edit: Speaking of which, I should point out that one of the reasons I've been enjoying Warhawk on my friend's PS3 so much is because the voice chat is nothing like what I experienced with Xbox Live.  The gamers are respectful, they work in teams, come up with strategies, and the prepubescent teens and asshole frat boys are few and far in between.  I'm still probably getting a 360 first because it has more games I want, but I'm probably not going to be paying for Live.

Halo 2 was actually a completely different experience online when it first came out (it was much the same as your Warhawk experience).  I'm not sure why it suddenly changed (maybe there was a flood of young gamers and immature adults or just people mastering the game/getting bored that caused the problems).

You know you're the third person to tell me that. I didn't own an Xbox when Halo 2 launched though... in fact I didn't pick one up until almost a year after. By that time it had gone to hell apparently. I kinda regret not getting an Xbox at Halo 2's launch now... because the online play is great, and I wish I'd had the chance to play it with more mature and respectful gamers.

It'd be a nice feature for those on your friend code list yea but after experiences with the almost mandatory voice chat in WoW I wouldn't care about a voice chat feature being added to a game ever again.

Amen to that I've almost successfully blocked out the memories of AQ20/ZG pickup raids that haunt me. Then all the small UBRS groups those too need erasing.

Be happy you don't have to block out memories of Molten Core, Blackwing Lair, and AQ 40 too... with the most retarded and immature group of individuals to ever successfully raid high end content.

Hehe ya I'm glad I never went that far. Its kind of funny too cause the WoW thing was a culture shock for me like your thing about PC FPS to Xbox FPS. I came from Everquest originally and had been raiding there for about 6 years in raids anywhere from 15-100 people (Sony loved to change up raid sizes :/ ) and for the most part people there were respectful of each other and easy to talk to. Then I try one stupid 20 man raid in wow and it just hits me all at once how different the populations of both games are.

I would be too never pick up MMORPGs they are the devil its why I laugh when I hear about SCEI and SoE trying to combine efforts if I was Sony I'd want to keep the guys that managed to run EQ/Star Wars Galaxies into the ground as far away from the Playstation 3 as possible.
