For some reason i think it's a "oh, you guys are in financial troubles? Well, we'll take over the publishing, let you have a piece of the cake, and reap most of the money. But hey, at least you guys won't have to worry about spending money to make money on this one. Besides, you guys are getting heck of a lot of exposure thanks to our movie"-move.

Although the Sony connection with atari might have something to do with it too

I don't think it'll affect 360/wii version. Namely if $ony are publishing they stand to make more munniez from a multi release.

Another thing.

I don't see why Sony should not start doing this with all the movies that they own 100% of the rights to. It has always boggled my mind why they would allow other publishers to make games on the movies that they own. Keeping everything in house is a much better move financially, because they make more per copy sold, they have more exclusives to their platforms, and the quality of the titles would improve. Plus the marketing force behind a movie/game at the same time, would be unstopable. Granted of course, an IP still has to have that mass appeal.


In any case, I hope this is not a one off deal, and Sony does push for more.
