Sure, because Nintendo is first and after that nothing else shown by anyone else will make any news what so ever. It will be like seagulls squaking at an airport after the takeoff of a Airbus A380.

Im not sure if thats sarcasm....>_>

I dont think a "megaton" will be announced but I expect great things for all. If 2.0 does come before E3 I think the reason the site will crash is because of the new site might not being stable.

A380 HYPE>>>>>>hype train equivalent hype>>>>>>>>>>>>general enthusiasm for Wii Fit 2

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

IoI will pull the plug on the site... due to the sheer awesome of E3 2009

4 ≈ One

I know I'm going to be here front and center cause that sure is gonna be a fun couple days. Man waiting for E3 is almost worse than waiting for Christmas to come.

VGC 2.0 launches just before E3, so hopefully the servers will be improved enough to take the strain.

Of course, if a megaton hits...the internet is dead. All of it. Even the non-gaming sites.

We need to set up some
"The Official Nintendo/Sony/Microsoft Press Conference Thread" so every announcement wont get it its own thread and easier for people to see the news since some people might not have access the live blogs or maybe some live blogs crash and so on.

Like 5 users use 5 different live blogs just in case and keep posting as the event goes on. I dunno something like that might help...

How well did the Official Killzone 2 Thread work for getting rid of multiple threads on the same topic?

If it's important, people will make a thread about it. If it's not important, people will make a thread about it. Just ride the flow for a week or so, then people will lose interest and start hyping Leipzig or something.

I remember Vgchartz lagging badly when the first Heavy Rain photos went up.

That article got an insane amount of views, like 90k plus or something.

So if one news article could badly lag the site, I would imagine a flurry of new announcements could bring the site to a crawl.

Although I think the site was running on old servers back then, and E3 last year wasn't too bad.

I am more excited for E3 than my own birthday!!!

from my understanding, the server is more than powerful enough and we've broken 10k views without lagging before. The real problem is bandwidth. Every time the site has lagged recently it was because VGChartz hosted the images directly rather than using photobucket or the like.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

SO E3 should be relatively smooth?

I can't promise anything as I'm not 100% sure what we are planning for E3 and I don't know how much extra bandwidth is used with the new design. The bandwidth usage of the new website may be the same, but I don't know as I haven't measured either and don't intend to. For E3 we may have live blogs and such and I really don't know how much is going on. I think if we go down it will have to be from a huge anouncement.
