This is not about fairness.
You yourself said in the OP that you don't think Wii Sports's sales are relevant because it just "isn't a good game"

Well, it is no better than an average game anyway. 76 doesn't equal greatness.

Yeah but however to many people who own that game(the expanded audience) the 76 game is 100 times better then that 91-95 game that comes out 3-4 times a year. You can't always go by Metacritic because by that scale MKWii and Wii Fit are sub par games that doesn't equal greatness.
At this point we will never know what the sales of Wii Sports would of been if it had never been bundled. We also will never know that for Super Mario Bros or Super Mario World(which Wii Sports outsold in Japan BTW). We also will never know for Tetris or Altered Beast.
WSR will be our greatest hint as I said and I do expect higher sales in Japan(thanks to the increase in userbase and its newness) but overall I expect it to sell less world wide by a fair portion. That said I expect WSR to sell more than GTA:SA which would be the highest selling non bundled game before this gen.
WSR will only be no better than the average game because it will probably only get a 60-80 on Metacritic.......Unless these publications fear a backlash from giving a popular game such a low score.
Just like Brain Age with a 77 on MetaCritic no "better" than your average game and selling 17.5 million because it wasn't a game that alot of people liked or the 83 that Nintendogs recieved on Metacritic in which 22 million+ people bought because no one liked that game.
Or it could be that ratings for these types of games aren't realy all of that accurate since there is little in the gaming media to properly represent that demographic. It is more Akin to asking a Sci Fi fan if they liked "The English Patient" then actual review.
