Forums - Sales - DId Anyone else Notice that CoD4:Mordern Warfare has Sold more on 360

I believe COD4 sold more on PC, but ofcourse some people prefer to just compare the PS3 and X360 versions for some weird reason.

Get us a source with PC numbers, and they can be added in

"Shooterbox" 360 sells more of a shooter game than PS3...

How am i not surprised by this?

MW2 will be much closer in sales, and the next CoD after that, will be practically even.

Very unlikely. World at War had about equal sales in Others. However, the 360 dominated in in the US.

Unless the PS3 can catch up in the US or really dominate in Others it won't happen.

But look on the bright side. The PS3 will dominate in racing! It'll be the console known for... driving.

I'm sure most people played the PC version. But did it sell the most? I would assume no.

And Shio disappeared from the thread, never to return again...

That's why they call X360 a shooter box :D
Not only does the 360 have shooters that get mega sales but it also gets better sales in just about every genre compared to the PS3. I mean look at the numbers, you'll see the 360 typically gets better numbers in JRPG, WRPG, Racing, football, basketball, music games, kids games, etc. The only genre PS3 wins in a regular basis is Soccer.

The 360 does not really get beter numbers in jRPGs, the top selling jRPG in Japan is White Knight Chronicles, and none have been released outside of Japan on PS3. Racing games are generally about equal, but NfS Undercover and BP sold better on PS3. And no, PS3 wins at football, 360 wins with American football. Also the PS3 wins any game that is quite big in Japan. However, percent of owners buying any given game seems to be bigger on the PS3, like with Grand Theft Auto IV, Assassin's Creed (I should probably check that) and several others.

Regardless, 360 currently has the better numbers in JRPG sales. Lack of confidence to bring some of the PS3 games out of Japan isn't my concern. I don't care about who wins what region, world wide sales matters the most in the long run.

NFS Undercover and BP only had about equal sales. But don't forget Dirt, Grid, Pure, and NFS PS all sold better on the 360. Also Forza 2 and PGR4 may have affected some of those games from selling better.

As I mentioned already... Soccer sells better on the PS3 and Football sells better on the 360.

It isn't really lack of confidence, more lack of jRPGs in general due to M$, so I would not really look at jRPGs until we get Final Fantasy XIII. Yeah I take your point about racers, but the more recent ones have sold better on PS3 because they are much more focused on Europe, so it will be interesting to see what happens with their sales in the future with the Xbox doing much better in Europe this year

Well, the sport that sells better on PS3 involves kicking a ball with your foot, and the sport that sells better on the Xbox involves throwing an egg...

maybe because there are more 360's than Ps3's owned by consumers. Duh.

This hand of mine is burning red. It's loud cry is telling me to grasp victory.....SEKIHA TENKYOKEN!!!

There is no hard data, but the fact that COD4 is STILL full-priced on PC, and still shows up at Steam's top10 sellers shows the enormous legs it has.

In other words, you can't back your statement.

You already know what's going to happen with FFXIII. It will sell the most copies on the PS3. That's a very important game for the PS3 and just another game in the 360 library. Can the PS3 sell the most JRPGs down the road outside of FFXIII? Very likely, but that's not the case yet. I'm surprised 360 has had the lead in that genre at all.

Grid and Pure are also recent games.

I can with agree with your wording in regards to football.
