which sports do you favour the most?

Football, hockey, basketball, golf, soccer, boxing, baseball... almost everything

If you like to play online, then the 360 should be the obvious choice. Unless you are too cheap to pay ~$40 a year for online.

Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.

You're asking the wrong people for advice. A good majority of this group giving their opinions likely don't play sports games at all. They'll push their agenda now, and when you come back asking for their Gamertags or PSN ID's(whichever you choose) you'll come to find they'll come back telling you how tired sports games are and how they're just roster updates.

Frankly, the two consoles are relatively equal in the quality of the multiplats, so you can't go wrong with either. You can initially spend more up front for a PS3 or slowly build up the costs of getting Xbox Live if you had plans on going online. MLB The Show really is a fantastic game, second to only Power Pros, but it definitely has more of the realism you're looking for. If you get a 360, you can friend me and play Madden, Blitz II, All Pro Football, UFC Undisputed, Smackdown vs. RAW 2008, Fight Night Round 4 and NBA 2K with me. If you get a PS3, I'll play you in MLB 09 The Show(I should have it within the next few weeks), NBA Street Homecourt and Fight Night Round 3). I don't really play soccer, golf or hockey games.

Before listening to anyone giving you advice, ask them whether they even play or give a shit about sports games in general first.

I'm a little confused. If you wanted to limit the discussion to only the PS360 you should have used 'better' instead of 'best'.

My answer is the Wii has better sports games than either of the PS360. Save your money and just keep your Wii if you are a sports fan

What? The Wii has the best version of Golf, but its football, baseball, FIFA, and basketball titles are all much worse than their HD counterparts.

Especially baseball with The Show on PS3. (Power Pros is good too, but it's a very different baseball game)

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Wow a lot of these people laid the fud on pretty heavy.

Both systems have identical sports games except the PS3 has the best (according to reviews and gamers) Baseball franchise.

PS3:
+ Free online
+ Identical Multiplats
+ EA Sports Complex in home
+ Seven Controllers Supported for some sports games
+ Some games compatible with PSP versions
+Best exclusive Baseball game
+Fifa World Cup exclusive to PS3
-Not as many people have headsets online
-Terrible exclusive Basketball game

360:
+ Identical multiplats
+Exclusive Snowboard game
-Paid Online subscription

+better online features, cross game voice chat, party, netflix.
+everyone has a mic, so it helps to better co-ordinate with multi-player sports games with more than one player on a team
The choice is yours.

I just added some extras for the Xbox 360 side, I hope you don't mind.

Ok thanks for all this information... It's help me out

Tease.

Wii is probably the most fun, but since you already have one...

Well PS3 and 360 mostly have the same sports games, though I do know that PS3 has MLB 09: The Show as an exclusive and its supposed to be good.
