It reminds me of playing Doom 2 back in the day... Its sad to see how little visuals have progressed, I think the PS3 is holding back this game. It'd have probably done better waiting for the PS2, rather than rushing it this gen.

Clearly visuals have progressed *looks at Killzone 2* so your observation makes no sense at all.

If you want to criticise the graphics of a PS3 title, then do so. Don't hide behind nolstalgic references. It's disingenuousness at its worst.

If you want to criticise a post, you should read all of it.

My eyes, the goggles do nothing.

Please just read the hands-on eurogamer had on this.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/mag-hands-on

Then someone will make the hyped thread

"OMFG-MAG!!!!!! hands-on" - I even made the thread title

Here are some quotes from the article:

"MAG is fun. In fact, it's massive fun. It's fast and loose, free-flowing, improvisational, spectacular, structured without being too rigid; it accommodates lone wolves, team players and power-trippers alike, and makes it easy for players themselves to direct the action. You'd expect it to be intimidating, but it actually feels like the FPS for everybody. Even after just one 20-minute, 128-player match, it's hard to shake the feeling that, one day, all multiplayer shooters will be made in its image."

"MAG's scale is all about people, not space. It's about seeing dozens of players by your side, dozens more in the distance, and hearing the widespread rattle of gunfire and the distant (or not-so-distant) screen-shaking thunder of airstrikes. Above all, it's about knowing that not one piece of this staggering spectacle, on a par with the grandest Call of Duty set-piece, is scripted or AI-directed. Every bullet, every explosion, every scrambling figure is the action of a real live player."

"environments are drawn in remarkable detail, considering the immense technical demands of running a 256-player battler at a solid 30 frames per second. MAG isn't quite Call of Duty 4 or Killzone 2 in the beauty-pageant stakes, and it has an understated look. But it's sharp, the level of detail is convincing, and abundant use of light-scattering fog and smoke engenders an impressively gritty, war-zone feel. Zipper's coding achievement is quietly immense."

Read the article if you are interested about the game. Then again feel free to continue bitching about it.

I am totally in hype mode for this

Man, you guys are jaded. I think the game looks fantastic.

I was thinking "what the hell is he talking about?", until I saw the 720p image.

That is actually disgusting. Resistance: Fall of Man looked better than THAT!

Wow... I don't know but... That seemed close to a Halo 3. Halo 3 wasn't bad looking nor was it spectacular....

Well I'm not saying it's a KZ2 or Uncharted or MGS4 in terms of graphics but, it's not horrid like Mobile Suit Gundam: Crossfire....

Call me defending but I'm not expecting anything from this game. Just that I thought this was overreacting a bit.

A one vs one is too obvious that one person will win. 32 player DM sounds about right. It's the truth man, i've been playing FPS for years and with 256 players on the map its going to be a spawn kill fest. I'm not saying don't buy it, i'm just giving my opinion from experience. KZ2 had the right amount of players, which is why everything turned out well. You can have players who are valued on your team by true skill. The battlefields are wide enough and that is a plus for KZ2. MAG is going to be a gigantic clusterfuck. Question though....how was KZ2 too intense? Man if that was intense you would've hated the old Call of Duty games lol.

I am a JRPG gamer for the most part.

8 vs 8 is more my style.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

The graphics look great in the new trailor, and for the size of the map and amount of players it's decent graphics. And there is no way this is psp or ps2 graphics. Come on stop exaggerating guys. But anyway it all comes down to gameplay, and it looks like a cross with cod4 and bad company with a lot more players and better maps

Socom says hi...

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

I dont even own a PS3 but people calling graphics on this poor are fools.
