Forums - Gaming - A question Ive always wanted to know the answer to?

I'm starting to ask the same thing about Chinese goods actually... From toothpaste with toxic substances to toys with lead paint it's obvious that a lot of stuff from China is cheap because they don't appear to have any quality controls in place over there. A lot of stuff from China appears to be junk and dangerous junk at that.

2 acronyms for you, RRoD and FPS-itis.

Wow, another guy talking about 360 being only FPS

go look at MR stickballs post

With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Proud supporter of all 3 console companys

Proud owner of 360wii and DS/psp

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.

I wonder if the next big Final Fantasy (or any other huge Japanese game) were to be an Xbox360 exclusive, would it sell well in Japan? If not, then they are truly stubborn.

just face it, the Japanese are better engineers then the American's. Look at the American cars against the Japanese cars for example. :P

Agreed.  So if you lived in Japan, and felt your countries products were the best what would you buy?  Nintendo and Sony, it's that simple.

Well, they have the guy who created FF making exclusive JRPGS to the 360, while it helped, didnt pierce their stubborness ~-~

BD got a really high score too... 36 or 37 /40

So basically all Ive really gained so far is that the hyped games available for the PS3 which have generally flopped in america aka lair,HS,Warhawk Americans think are better than what the 360 is offering? That sounds like fanboy to me. I cant see at this present time what an american can say bad about the 360 in terms of games on offer. Yet they slag it off. This I dont get.

to be fair for years the japanese gov't imposed restrictions on how foreign companies can operate business there. even to this day you rarely see foreign companies or foreigners running companies in the society. that's why sony hiring a scot (or is he irish?) as their CEO is such a big deal.

america is a much freer market economy. when it comes to innovation and putting technology into practical use, america is absolutely the place to be, there is no competition. that's why the techs and and all the startups are flourishing in the US and not japan.

the Wii is an epidemic.

Not true!!!

American Movies have a huge hold over Jap. Audiences.

American Food is very popular in Japan, in some cases more than the local cuisine.

American Music is a Rage in Japan.

Japan's Most popular Spectator Sport is "Baseball"

America's Education system has influenced Japans.

Also a lot of American culture has rubbed on to Japan, Christmas is a huge festival, although Santa is an old man on the Moon. :-p

Jap Businessmen play Golf on their spare time.

Jap's dress in Suits, rather than kimono's..

Well I could go on, but the reason X360 has flopped in Japan, is because it has very few games that appeal to the Jap audience. the same reason dreamcast flopped in japan.

I seriously doubt X360 will ever reach 1M consoles sold in Japan during its lifetime. But us still an improvement over the Xbox which failed to crack into 500K sold during its lifetime. 500K before 2008, might be possible.

We have 16 weeks, at a highly optimistic average of 5000/week (its 1500/week right now) hey would hit 80K. 440K+80K would just help them scrape through. Although sustaining 5K/week in japan is a tall order for the 360.

Heeeeyyyy!!!! <Snap>
