My hate for Sony is gone, due in part to my time here on VG Chartz ..............but I still prefer the Xbox 360 over the Playstation 3, because the games I prefer are on Xbox 360 and I just don't like and have never liked Sony's attitude towards gamers and the gaming industry as a whole, both Microsoft and Sony are using the gaming industry for their own ambitions, but I feel Microsoft respects gamers and the gaming industry, but what if Sony and Microsoft teamed up in the next generation, Microsoft would provide the software and Sony would produce the hardware as they are so good at doing hardware, Playstation consoles alway look the best in my opinion, the console would still be called Playstation, but the OS and Online would be run by Microsoft.

If Sirius and XM can merge and become a better company why not these two?

No.

1. it will never happen
2. competition is good for the fans.
3. xbox doesnt have much to offer me. Gears of War, and thats about it.

Because Sony and Microsoft are 100x bigger than those little companies. Sony and Microsoft have deep histories.

Sirius and XM were both fairly new and going after a smaller market than video games.

Well there would still be competition.
MS and Sony seem to be going the same direction.
Would be less risk for both of them.
Also I would not have to blow money on more consoles.

Considering it completely hypothetical, yes, that would be pretty awesome. And to those saying there would be no competition, ever heard of Nintendo?

Sony Hardware MS software...doesn't sound like a bad plan

However competition is good for the soul.

Competition has made Sony step up their game this year, so far it ain't looking half bad.

Some folks are complaining that ninty are becoming complacant IMO it's because they are in a league of their own so they can easily put their feet up and count the dough.
