Well, does that include the first 7 days on sale or just the week released ending Sunday?

it's significant because everything you say is based on your own impression, not any fact. If you have ever been to Japan to talk to people there, you would realize you don't know Japanese culture at all.

Also, I'm pretty sure most of last year DQIX was the most antipicated game in Japan until the numeous delays. I'm not sure where your 15 months run coming from.

Last, you claim Final Fnatsy is the fastest selling game. Maybe to 2 million. DQ is the fastest selling game to 3 millions and 4 millions. There is no Final Fantasy title even reach 4 millions. With your logic, a movie reaches 100 millions at box office faster but end up with 150 millions is a more popular movie than a movie that reaches 100 milions at box office slower but end up with more than 200 millions at the box office. It doesn't make much sense to me.

Here, take a look at FF and DQ sales on PS2 (first week): FF X: 1,906,152 FF X-2 1,561,553 FF XII: 1,819,872 DQ VIII: 2,267,827 The DS is a much more popular system than PS3 in Japan also. There's no reason to think FF XIII will beat DQ IX first week sales.
