Forums - Sony - Hideo Kojima's Policenauts and the PS3 A Match Made in the Heavens -Not ZOE

I've been reading these forums and almost anytime I see someone talking about what Hideo Kojima should do next, almost everyone is saying Zone of the Enders 3.  I strongly disagree with this and I feel that this clamoring must be coming from people that were in their teens when Zone of the Enders came out on the PS2 and that lack any real idea of what Hideo Kojima has done in his career other than Metal Gear Solid.

Here's a fact that some might find surprising.  For all of the inherent greatness of Kojima's MGS games, those are not his true masterpieces.  His true masterpieces are Snatcher which appeared on the US on Sega-CD, but there was a better version on PS1 which never appeared in the US and Policenauts which appeared only in Japan on the 3D0, Sega Saturn, and PS1 and was scheduled for a US release on the Sega Saturn but was pulled at the last minute before its American release for fear that some of its themes would be seen as being too controversial for American audiences.

In order to complete his masterwork, we need Kojima to make the third game in the Snatcher and Policenauts triumverate and not Zone of the Enders.  Fans should quit asking Kojima for ZOE3 because doing so only distracts him from what he really needs to do.  And that isn't MGS5 or ZOE3, it is either Snatcher II or Polcenauts II.  (And hopefully when he gets to work on that one, he and Konami will also see fit to bring the PS1 versions of Snatcher and Policenauts in true uncensored localizations to either the PSP or PS2 (preferably) much as they brought out the Metal Gear Collection to the PS2 shortly before the launch of MGS 4 last year.

Notice the word Beyond appearing prominently in the Policenauts trailer?

Policenauts II and the PS3 a match made in the heavens.

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

A game that was released for the failure that is the Sega CD and another game that was released only in Japan? Why are we NOT excited for a new entry!?

Because both Snatcher and Policenauts have long been considered to be 10s while ZOE is an 8.5.  Also, the Sega CD was far from a failure.  It had Sonic CD a Sonic game that hasn't been surpassed in quality in fifteen years, Snatcher one of the greatest games of all time, and Lunar I & 2 and Magical Popful Mail jrpgs that no 360 jrpg has come close to topping.

Lol? these two? instead of ZoE?

Play ZoE 2 and then get back to me.

I would love a new snatcher game. I was left in awe at how amazing snatcher was on the mega cd. The story was awesome and so was the graphic violence and gameplay.

I loved the detective sections and the shooting mechanics with the 9 squares to choose from. It was beyond ZoE and mgs. Only those having played snatcher can appreciate it.

The question is, since very very few people played snatcher, will it sell well if a sequel is released? I played snatcher on my mega cd about 12 years ago! I can barely remember the plot. Although I would welcome it, it has to feasible for kojima to make and release it!

im thinking those games would be an ipod game, or DS and not a ps3. unless they change the gameplay completely.
and yes i know those games and i know they are underrated.

I don't doubt it. However, they don't seem as good as ZoE 2.
