Forums - Sales - If PSWii were the "SD/Motion" Twins - Would 360 Be LEADING in Sales?!

@kenology

I have decided to pursue innovative discussion topics from today

I felt this was a cool topic

the point was brought up by someone in another thread

how though

Wii's market would be SPLIT

xbox 360 would have a REIGN on Harcore games

Cause of the audience they target. Nintendo will first target the casual and nongamers first and Sony will target the hardcore first. Then when Nintendo has enough casual and nongamers they will now try to attract the hardcore. Sony will do the opposite and try to get casual and nongamers but it will be to late since Nintendo already got most of them. Since most casual and nongamers will already have a Wii they wouldn't want to buy a second like the Ps3 but hardcore gamers would buy another console if it had good exclusive.

In this instance, what is different than the current situation? Or rather, what you believe is the current situation.

What the hell does Ditto have to do with anything? It's a Pokemon, it wouldn't be different.

Or are you hinting on that

Ditto is a Pokemon

Pokemon is casual

Ps3 being SD would steal casuals from Wii

Leading Nintendo to make a real Pokemon game for Wii, to attract casuals

So the only thing being different, would be that there would be a real Pokemon game for Wii?

Wii would still be winning.

no, they only reason it ended up the way it did was because the ps3 was so expensive.

had the ps3 cost the same amount as the wii it would be a different story altogether

hello how are you.

I'm going to go with no.

They migtht benefit... somewhat...

Then again they might look even more "left behind" then the Wii makes it look now in regards to the controls.

No, there are numerous factors u need to consider such as game design, avatar use, ir pointer functionality, price, traditional (former gen.) market, relevence to company image and hand held audience.

Do you really think LBP is going sell to a different consumer on PSP, its not. Primarily this is the reason i think Nintendo would have had this in the bag already.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.
