Cause of the audience they target. Nintendo will first target the casual and nongamers first and Sony will target the hardcore first. Then when Nintendo has enough casual and nongamers they will now try to attract the hardcore. Sony will do the opposite and try to get casual and nongamers but it will be to late since Nintendo already got most of them. Since most casual and nongamers will already have a Wii they wouldn't want to buy a second like the Ps3 but hardcore gamers would buy another console if it had good exclusive.

In this instance, what is different than the current situation? Or rather, what you believe is the current situation.

Ps3 being SD would steal casuals from Wii

Leading Nintendo to make a real Pokemon game for Wii, to attract casuals
