ouch , the ps3 price in japan isn't helping at all.
I mean big OUCH.
I can only see them shifting Yakuza to the wii or psp , isn't Yakuza is their only big title that is supposed to bring them shit loads of money? this is not happening here sadly.

It just began to fall under Yakuza 2's curve. http://vgchartz.com/swlaunch.php?reg1=All&game1=Yakuza+-+PS2®2=All&game2=Yakuza+2+-+PS2®3=All&game3=Yakuza+3+-+PS3&weeks=100 |
You don't consider that falling off hard. I mean look at it.
It started off with 100K more sales. Then ended up worse that shortly after.
Yakuza 2 started outselling Yakuza 3 week 2. Week to week.
It started off more successful. Then by week 2 started selling less.
That's not falling off hard?

Lol at the people partying about Yakuza breaking even as if it means that average HD budgets are suddenly lower than explained by tons of companies.
If it broke even it's still a failure, since companies are in business for profits.

That would be Mario & Sonic...
Besides that Sonic games are still selling well in Europe, they announced a JRPG for PS3 and 360, The Conduit should do decently, House of the Dead was a success. Sega is doing fine.

interesting....
so they have about the same numbers with the ps3 being much more expensive and having much smaller userbase.
A price cut there would've done wonders but "would've" is not enough alone :(

madworld says seem to be round about expectations then, but it was never likely to net much of a profit anyway. will we ever find out if they made a profit on it?

Where did I say that? I just made the observation that it fell under Yakuza 2 with week 5's sales.
@ NJ5
You're right! It's going to stop selling completely!

Seemed like you were implying that. I was shocked myself when i looked at it. Guess the 1 million prediction will be off. Didn't think it was a genre that would be hit by the PS3's sales woes.

1 million only in Japan?
That's not going to happen, even Yakuza 2 didn't do that.
I could this passing MGS4 with a cheaper edition.
