Don't forget that HSG5 sales are being propped up by huge price cuts and bundling. Some retailers are discounting the game over 50%.

well now that the NPD is out we see the 360 in NA out sold the ps3 by 150,000 consoles and not by 89,000.
by either number, not a good way to pass a competitor, is japan going to make up that much of a loss?
Also consider the 360 is still leading in the combined other chart, given the % off in the NA we might infer the 360 is under tracking there too.

Slipping? Its been steady at 90-100k weekly since the price drop...I think a week ofter TGS the ps3 sales will jump to around 40k in japan, and stay around 30k in europe along with 50k in U.S until november. |
Last months NPD had PS3 at 173k.... this month 130k That's what I would consider a slip

My overall prediction is:
(drum roll)
It could go either way, if Japan sales dont pick up for ps3, then its never, if they do however, and europe sales pick up, then yes ps3 will eventually take over. But it requires at least one of these, and if its only one it has to be huge
With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.| Lost tears of Kain said: My overall prediction is: (drum roll) It could go either way, if Japan sales dont pick up for ps3, then its never, if they do however, and europe sales pick up, then yes ps3 will eventually take over. Your prediction is that you don't really have one.
Well actually, I think your saying that the PS3 will win if the sales pickup... or that the PS3 will fail if the sales fail.
wow... awesome..
Common!! Give us a real prediction!

=( i cant play it safe?
my prediction is ps3 will eventually take over, if the games do give it such a huge boost and sony plays it right
Seriously im 50/50 here, i really dont know, with way things going 360 will dominate

Let me get this straight? You don't see PS in the US as slipping though it went from 173k to 130k yet you'll call the Wii in Japan declining?
You do realize in Japan they are in the annual post holiday slump (everybody dropped) and Nintendo shifted units to the US to start the holidays?

However, looking at Sony's '08 lineup, there's no way in hell that could happen. From '08 on, when the games start hitting and the PS3's price drops to $399 USD or lower, I predict that the ps3 will begin outselling the 360 substantially across the globe (though not so much in the US). |
It's not just the end of the software drought, which is typical of any system during its first year, Sony has done two very smart things which Microsoft will have difficulty countering: (1) push online gaming, by linking up with NCSoft, investing in MMOs, releasing Home, etc. and (2) investing heavily in their development studios. XboxLive is a wonderful service, but it's all-in-one approach limits what kinds of services companies can offer.

if i remember right thats what was said about itunes, and right now only two places sell more music than them, bestbuy and walmart, regardless of online or brick and mortarÂ
