Forums - Gaming - Fallout: New Vegas announced

Bethesda Softworks has announced the upcoming release of a new Fallout game, entitled Fallout: New Vegas, at its London Showcase.

The title is being developed by Obsidian Entertainment and will appear on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC - set for release next year.

"It's not a sequel to Fallout 3, it's just another game in the universe, and it has no impact whatsoever on whatever Todd Howard and his team are working on," said Pete Hines, Bethesda's vice president in charge of public relations and marketing.

"We approached Obsidian and they were, like, yeah. That was a pretty easy conversation. It's not Fallout Tactics, it's not Brotherhood of Steel; it's another RPG."

Earlier today, it was revealed that Bethesda had also submitted trademark applications for a Fallout TV series and movie.

hopefully it'll have a better story than fallout 3.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

*squeal* Wow! Amazing! I can't wait to hear more about it.

Why must JRPG female leads suck so bad?

For the people that are wondering. Obsidian also made Neverwinter Nights 2 and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II :).

TV Series and a movie? Interesting.

I hope that they will add more side quests, guilds (or clans, w/e) and more cities than in the last one. After spending over 120 hours on Oblivion, Fallout 3 really felt empty compared to it.

Good, I like Bethesda games and Obsidian games.... However, I have a major problem with this. Oblivion and Fallout 3 were both very buggy games... and Star Wars:KoToR2 was also very buggy. So whilst the quality is there, we'll also probably get a game that require day0 patches and will probably need to be patched for smooth play until the end of the generation and possibly beyond. This generation should just be renamed the 'patch' generation.

Well, great, was one of the best games I've played this year, but I didn't like the ending. It felt lame and poorly writen. Hopefully they get it sorted out. It sucks playing a exciting game and having such a poor ending.

 Oh no you could be wrong. It is not because it called Fallout new vegas that it will be in Vegas.

Obsidian has an tradition to name their projects to states or in this case cities example:

Project Delaware => KOTOR II
Project Pennsylvania => NN2.

For realz!?
