FFXIII demo comes out in Japan in one week!

April 17, 2009 - Following weeks of PS3 and PSP dominance over in Japan, DSi has lead the way for the past couple of weeks. But that all came to an end for Media Create's latest charts covering April 6 through April 12 as PSP took over.

In software, Capcom's Sengoku era PSP fighting game Sengoku Basara Battle Heroes topped the charts with 85,731 units, beating out Wii's Muramasa Demon Blade. The latter is apparently in short supply, with Marvelous having recently issued a statement apologizing for low stocks.

In hardware, the PSP took back the top spot from the DSi. But just barely! PSP sold just a couple of hundred more units than the DSi. PS3, meanwhile, continued to top the Wii just ahead of the big Final Fantasy XIII demo's release.

Next week's chart will reflect the release of the FFXIII demo, so expect PS3 to totally dominate the console hardware charts. DS should manage to lead the portables following this week's release of the latest Mystery Dungeon Pokemon game.

PS3 really has been awesome in Japan.

It's been some pretty nice weeks in japan for SONY lately.

PS3 = awesome. Most interesting part of this article for me though:

I always wonder how this logic works. Sales are expected to go up because there is this select group of people who are anxiously awaiting - and have been postponing 'til now - buying a DS for the new Mystery Dungeon Pokemon game? Come on now...

it's great to see the Ps3 selling well in Japan, but come on, 16k is not good at all, it should not be considered as "good" just because it's a little above the Wii

if the only reason you are happy with Ps3 sales is Japan is because it's above Wii, i'm sorry to disappoint you, but it will take tenths of years to reach Wii sales in Japan at this rate

both consoles are doing bad, i hope DQ10, MH3 and mostly FF13 will help

ha no kidding. its sad seeing all these ps3 dominates or doing amazing or whatever in japan. pretty sure all 3 consoles are doing HORRIBLE in japan. just cause a HD Hardcore system is beating the kids/girls/grandma system that is gonna ruin the world its like they want to throw a party

good how ps3 is at its best in japan alomost 20k a week. sad how the wii is at its worst in japan under 20k a week.

anoying how the wii is just barley being outsold and every1 thinks the wii is dead in japan already... gahhh
