That gamesradar article was fun to read, thanks.
I don't think the people writing those articles have any idea about gaming.
It's more like a "me too" articles when they stumble on "news" they don't already have.
They have to turn in some homework, you know. Else, they'd be out of a job.
Facts is irrelevant when they interfere with beer or porn.
*facepalm* a game system that has better sales year over year and the thing is last year was breaking records and now it's just breaking it's own records, that system is in trouble? Yeah... no...
Honestly the media has been pretty much Nintendo bashing since the beginning... no idea why... it's like the nice guy you meet off the streets and you just want to punch him in the face for no reason at all... NES got hate for being a console when consoles were dead and PC was how gaming was going to be forever. SNES had hate because it was the console for kids. N64 had hate because none of Nintendo's IPs were "mature" enough and PS1 had advancements like the CD. GC was such fanboyish hate from gaming "journalists" that I read at least 5 articles about how PS2 was more powerful and no one really disputed it...
I have no idea why people have so much contempt for one company, mostly because Nintendo doesn't try to sell an image that they are the best and when you buy one of their consoles you are the best and any other console and company is terrible and you need to slander them... I guess that's what people mean when they want "mature"
*gets off soapbox*
Honestly the gaming community is never going to be taken seriously the way gaming "journalists" (I use journalist loosely) just make hateful articles and no one even thinks to themselves this is not good to publish. Everything is one big mudslinging contest and the rest of the world sees a bunch of children bitching. Gaming can become a serious medium, where you can have interesting stories and games that are simply art, but everyone really needs to calm down, think about what they say and why they say it, and then realize that no company is really here to do anything but normal business and make games for you, there's no reason to hate one over the other, period.

I never paid as much attention to game columnist until this year, and I know the goal of a columnist is to be an alarmist in opinion to get ppl to have opinions, but has it ever been to this extreme for the major consoles any gen?
The Interweb is about overreaction, this is what makes it great!
...Imagine how boring the interweb would be if everyone thought logically?

No it wasn't. It was actually pretty pathetic. But hey go ahead. Seems that you¡ll never learn right?
@MaxwellGT2000: The theory I've heard (for Malstrom no less) is that these jounalist do not want Nintendo to succeed. The Wii is not focused on the "hardcore" and is winning then imaginary race. They can't have this. How could a console win without their support?
A similar reason may be they don't like the system, but it's "winning." Thus, they get angry and defensive about it. Basically, they bring personal agendas into their writing.
I rarely pay attention to gaming articles until the GameCube era kicked in. But seriously, as someone already posted, it feels like the NES, SNES, N64 ect all over again with these articles popping up time and time again.
It seems that most of these articles(to the point of all of them), wants us to derail from Nintendo. While some are just amusing the the present moment of Nintendo, others just hack and slash on the company. It was ludicrous how Gamedaily compared the price tags of the wii($250) and ps3($200) almost to the point of maddness. I actually headed to Amazon.com to comfirm this and it's untrue. Made me laugh, though. I was thinking that they might have compared a used ps3(a ps2 probably) to a new wii just in stock...
I've seen newscasters try to stay objective unless the topic is too emotional, but these writers don't even put the effort to do so, again as someone else posted.
While they are contradicting one another, poking amusement towards the company as a whole, ect, they have one thing in common. The question of loyalty, toward Nintendo to the fans and vice versa(And they're poking at gamers who has weaker loyalty towards Nintendo). But somehow most, not all of them has missed the point that most 3rd party developers(even 2nd) take the easy way, port the games to wii and shoehorend(if I can use this term in a gesturely manner) the waggle control in every possible way imaginable(sounds kind of dirty though), instead of building the game from the ground up for the wii. Like the 1st party devs are doing since the last release of that epic Mario and Zelda game 'till now, I give props on the article that pointed this out, but forgot wich one. Nintendo did there part to cater the experienced gamers while also opening to the novice ones, keeping it balanced. Most 3rd parties that develop games for the wii on the other hand made a tipsy-turvy towards the novice and disregard that there are any experienced Nintendo gamers in existens, and maybe some of the many that wanted to try other games that's willing to try something that is not Nintendo's 1st party(EAD's comes to mind) made.
. . . I hope I made a sence of my own thoughts or myself for that matter. . . (*scratches head)

lol I'm sure it is. No Special editions on CoD:WaW and WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 and little customization of Wii Menu....Who really cares about that? This is just too ridiculous to be true.
