Forums - Sony - Sony’s E3 2009 Press Conference Could Be The Biggest In History & A Turning Point In Software

Maybe. Or they may create another slew of embarrassing internet memes again.

Seriously though, you're going to be dissapointed if you have expectations that unreasonable

The only problem with that is not a single thing that the article suggests is remotely unreasonable. In fact, most of the things that it suggests will be appearing at E3 are already confirmed or at the very least heavily rumored.

God of War III is already confirmed playable at E3.
Gran Turismo 5 is all but confirmed.
Team ICO is confirmed by "insider sources".
PSP2/PSP-4000 rumors are downright rampant.

There's a reason why Sony has more booths and conference rooms reserved at E3 than any other company.

I didn't mean what games would shown, I'm just saying it's not going to be the "Turning Point" on software the orginal poster's saying it will be

Biggest conference in E3 to date??? No. Nothing can beat Nintendo 2006 E3 conference.... that was just insane >_>

well to be honest.. all the regular franchises have been milked - MGS, GT5,FF,GOW.. unless they have an new awesome IP in the offing.. its gonna be newer versions of older titles.. not necessarily bad.. infact awesome even.. but nothing unexpected

Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.

5 THINGS I'd like to see before i knock out:

a. a AAA 3D sonic title

b. a nintendo developed game that has a "M rating"

c. redesgined PS controller

d. SEGA back in the console business

e. M$ out of the OS business

MAG and Heavy Rain are new IPs

Well I think that this could be argued. The E3's in the PS2 eras weren't really that important to Sony because of simply how dominating the PS2 was.

Now Sony is at a crossroads and they are faced with perhaps, the strongest lineup for the PS3, one of the weaker lineups for their competitors, a financial crisis, a competitor with a very strong (but not crushing) lead, and demands of a price cut.

I'm not saying Sony will come out of this E3, year, or generation winning. Only that this E3 is crucial and must be used carefully and to the fullest extent possible.
