No, but it's good? Is it like Requiem or Pi?

and @anyone else asking about "The Fountain", definitely at least rent it. if you enjoyed Aronofsky's other films you will love "The Fountain". i got the BD when it came out and i've seen it at least 6 times. EDIT: @dolla dolla, the "less than stellar" things you heard about it were most likely from people that simply didn't understand it, parts of the fountain can be confusing. the art direction and style are reason enough, so if you enjoyed and could follow PI well, then you should definitely check it out. "Shoot Em Up" sounds like it's gonna be a real good action flick. "Shooter" was pretty good too, solid action title. @super_etecon, if you liked city of lost children, then you've GOT to see dark city as well, very sci-fi noire, awesomely bizarre film. i would also recommend you check out lost highway and blue velvet if you're looking for something different. they're by the same director that did twin peaks and mulholland dr.

I've seen all those you recommended.  I'm a bit of a Lynch fan.  Dune by Lynch is so much better than those miniseries they did.

LYNCH!!! David Lynch, hell i couldn't think of his name, it was making me nuts! dune was very cool, i just got a dvd of it for 3 bucks, i think i'll go watch it.

@super_etecoon, you've seen dark city? what did you think of it? it's what turned me onto city of lost children.

@dolla dolla, cool thread, i've been thinking of starting the exact thing, i didn't know if there would be enough interest to keep it up, hopefully i'm wrong =)

I liked Dark City.  Keifer Sutherland is creepy.  It's been quite a while since I saw this, but I was most impressed with the mood.  Very subdued.

Here are some new recommendations:

  • Mirrormask
  • Pan's Labyrinth (Do NOT expect Bowie's Labyrinth...i.e, no kids)
  • Hott Fuzz

Lynch! My friends are big Lynch fans, we watched all of Twin Peaks this summer, every Thursday night was Twin Peaks night. Most of us hadn't seen it...it was good.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

I just showed it (Twin Peaks: Season 1) to my gf. Surprisingly, she liked it too. Planning on getting the second season this year, but I just got her seasons 1-11 of ER, so she'll be busy for a while.

yeah...that's the Old Boy I thought it was...anyone here watched it...recommend it? I'm not too big on violence but I am curious.

Old Boy is excellent, with a twist on par with the crying game.

I'd also recommend the rest of the so called "revenge trilogy"
