As I posted in another thread, I'm wondering how the game is overtracked by over 50% from everyone else comparing to NPD data... I can understand 10%-15%... even 25% is acceptable... but over 50%? It's only logical to suspect something is wrong especially considering everyone, including NPD, get the data from almost the same sources (retailers).
MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.
Yea, NPD is not to be trusted. Seriously, there have been rumors to suggest they are more than just a tracking firm. They might be a faction of some larger entity hired to manipulate numbers to alterior motives. It's all conspiracy theoryish but there is a larger entity out there controlling things the world over, it becomes more evident everyday..
Ask if u want a link to the npd theory.....

then I would've said the same... but it would've been the 360 fanboys who would be accusing of NPD being wrong.

Where NPD and VGC disagree, I would have to go with NPD.
Possible explanation: Canadians have become massive software purchasers and bought 100,000 copies of Chinatown wars, and a third of the US' hardware?

Looks to me like a lot of Wii fans are actually saying NPD might be wrong in this thread..
ofcourse they could. But its not like anyone has got the balls to question them, least of all the companies that PAY for the actual research.
“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.
^yes i believe alot of people, and not just Wii owners, are shocked by the GTA numbers and less so by the drop in Wii sales.

@ kowenicki
Dude, u want a link to the conspiracy theory. NPD is in league with the illuminati (well that's the name they want u to believe they're called, they might just be called Microsoft and released illuminati so people can look for an entity that doesnt exist and therefore create mass skeptism, allowing them to continue to function).
Haven't you guys ever wondered how in the world a company got a hold of such a monopoly in such a competitive and massively consumed market as computer software!?!?? And how in just 1 generation MS turned the tables on Sony and has sony on the ropes inspite of sony's massive previous dominance of the video game market??? Somethings gotta be amiss, SONY couldn't possibly be losing market share just like that.
