I have no idea what has happened to Japans market but it has to be said that it its pretty scary. Just a couple years ago the top ten were 100k+ but now look at the numbers!
Japan is still the front of the gaming industry by a country mile but in terms of sales it is being more and more irrelevelant.
7 weeks in a row, baby! And the Wii is under 15,000 (and down 27,000 worldwide from last week. :) ) lol.

Yes it's irrelevant to Nintendo and MS who get tons of sales in US/EU but look for 2009 graph comparing Sony Japan sales with worldwide:
even in the worst weeks Japan was responsible for 10% + sales of Sony.
And well Japan is keeping PSP alive:
BTW anyone knows how to make those links display as graphs inside post (other than print screen and hosting it on imageshack :D )

I've lived in Japan for 17 years and our economy has been bad for years, these poor sales did not start when the recession hit NA and EU. I have you know that I watch BBC news every day at 6pm. -_-
Also dream on reask, the hardware bump has to do with the 360 getting a 256mb arcade model, numbers will be down again soon enough.

PS3 should be above Wii for another 2 weeks.
