"don't see why certain people get so wound up about a prediction that the PS3 will eventually outsell the 360."
Either that or vice versa shouldn´t get some people worried and riled up..I´ve already explained why in my previous post.

What I meant by tracking ahead is that the PS3 doesn't seem to be closing the gap, at end of 2007 the gap was 7 million at the end of 2008 the gap was 8 million that is near 30 percent, and I feel this will continue to happen.
I will take the word tracking out of my OP.

and you do realize that the PS3 was outselling the Xbox 360 for atleast 3 quarters of 2008 then in September Microsoft came out with the big pricue cut.
What do you think's going to happen when the PS3 get's a price cut if it's already neck and neck with the xbox 360 at double the price?
2009
X360: 11 million
PS3: 12 million
2010
X360: 9 million
PS3: 14 million
2011
X360: 5 million
PS3: 10 million
So by the end of 2011 we get:
X360: 53 million (2 million Japan, 32 million Americas, 19 million Others)
PS3: 56 million (8 million Japan, 22 million Americas, 26 million Others)

BTFeather55 another low post made in the same thread. You try and fail to justify your outrageous claims in your latest post. So you are telling the 30 million of us X360 owners: "We have wasted our money on buying a X360" You also say: "There are no new games coming to X360 and X720 is being released in 2010" You fail dude. |
Wrong.
Heavens to Murgatoids.

Yeah, and let's think about why that was. The 360 received two substantial price cuts in Others in 2008. Following the first one, the PS3 was still waltzing all over the 360 as it usually does in Others. And Microsoft found that so embarrasing to their company that they felt compelled to cut the 360's price even further, so that it only costs half as much as the PS3 does now. And it still isn't selling that well in comparison to the PS3 in Others on a weekly basis. 11,000 here, 6,000 there.
What are they going to do when the PS3 gets a new price cut and has some phenomenal games out. And starts waltzing all over the 360 there again? I mean I guess they could do some more price cuts.
But at the end of the gen, do you really want to show up to a conference and say, "We were able to beat the PS3 last gen because we started lining up on street corners in Europe and handing 360s out to people walking by for free and hiding quite a few in the backs of their trucks when they weren't looking."?
Heavens to Murgatoids.
Why did you make 2 threads about this?
Ill give you the same answer as what you got in the other...
By the end of 2010 the gap will be about 4-5 million imo, maybe less.
By the end 2011 the PS3 will have caught up to, if not passed the 360.

@BTFeather55
The 360 will last far past 2010. There's no way that the economy will have turned around by then to support yet another new console launch at $500, nor will there even be *need* for a new console at that point.
I'd be surprised if E3 didn't reveal some very cool things about the near-term plans for 360.
I seriously believe that the ps3 will never catch up with the 360.
