if 360 is barely outselling PS3 NOW at this price.....well I highly doubt after the Ps3 price drop (which many 360 fans pretend will never happen) its CLEAR who will outsell who

MY Prediction:

PS3 -- 58 Million

360 -- 60 Million

Wii -- 116 Million

I doubt the 360 will be ahead by that much but nevertheless I think the 360 will still be ahead in 2011.

You do realize for the last month the PS3 X360 gap has been a 10K difference?

The PS3 is twice the price and also the X360 is going to peak probably this year since it's been out for a year longer the PS3.

Could you please clarify that number you got, how much do you think the PS3 and X360 will sell in 2009, 2010 and 2011, for each year.

2009

X360: 13 million

PS3: 15 million

2010

X360: 10 million

PS3: 16 million

2011

X360: 7 million

PS3: 13 million

Total by the end of 2011

X360: 54 million

PS3: 64 million

 

 Righto....its not possible for the 360 to be 20 million ahead...its just wishful thinking for the op!!!

As far as I´m concerned, at this point this generation´s 'console wars' has become 'boring', since we all know the Wii will end in 1st place and no matter how often the HD systems keep changing places, they´ll still keep getting the vast majority of 3rd parties´ "big" games.

Since this is the first generation where the systems that aren´t the market leaders are the ones getting the bulk of 3rd parties´attention, when it comes to their "big" games, I think all this 'war' between the HD systems is a wasted effort on the part of the fanboys of those systems.

360 doesn't track ahead of PS3 by 30 percent, it is just difference in install base. 360 was released 1 year earlier which is the biggest reason they have sold 30 percent more. Actual sale tracking of 360 and P3 has been almost identical. When PS3 was released, 360 had already sold 7-8 million so gap haven't increased a lot. That said, I except gap to remain about same (or a bit more) even at the end of 2011.

My predictions: PS3=50 million, 360=59 million

This 30% tracking does not take account that the 360 was released several months ahead of the PS3. Not does it take into account that the PS3 price cut has yet to come. 

 

360 has played its trump cards in terms of price. All that is left is to virtually gave them away for free. I suspect the next generation wont happen until 2013. By then I expect PS3 to have a lead over XBox but not a significant one.
