I would like it but there aren't many Apple fans here, when people talk about it it's usually to bash.

This is a gaming site. The forums should be about gaming in general.

Very few people game on apple machines.

It would make far more sense to make a Sega forum.

Are you excluding the iPod Phone/Touch from this? If you weren't excluding them, I've always been wondering about the software sales on them, and if you have anything, that'd be great to see. They were a part of the idea for the forum anyways.

I guess I expected to see a few more Mac users on this site, especially ones who play in the iPod Phone/Touch. If there really aren't any people here like that, or if only very few, then I agree that making an Apple Forum would be somewhat of a waste.

Frankly - the Iphone/Itouch are smaller than the pure "phone" market (I'm fairly certain, but have no proof - I may be wrong).

I'm not saying it's non-existant, but it's probably relatively small.

Apple doesn't compete in the "pure phone" market. They compete in the smartphone market, which is where the big mobile software buyers are. Last I saw, Apple had surpassed RIM to take second place in the smartphone market, and Apple's explosive growth in this sector has led some analysts to predict it will overtake Nokia in four years (for whatever analyst predictions are worth).

The real scary part is internet usage. 0.6% of all internet browsing is done via iPhone/Touch, representing more traffic than all other mobile platforms combined.

I hate macs, I can never get along with the damn things. I don't see the appeal other than they are shiny.

nope, no Apple forum. Apple is a hardware and software company much like Nintendo, but the difference is that Apple is one of the crappiest supporters for gaming. They don't support Mac gaming outside of having an OpenGL layer. Where as MS has DX. I'm not saying that Apple should make their own DX varient, but a Game Wrapper for OpenGL would be a step in the direciton.

Much is the same for the iPhone/Touch series. While they have OpenGLES, they don't really put effort into actively support gaming. Though they are open to having them.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

I create a fair few threads about Iphone games, and other things about Macs, so I would post in it
