Forums - Gaming - For all you people saying that MadWorld would sell better on PS3/360...

Why the Obsession with Madworld's sales?

It sold badly on the Wii,it would've sold badly on the HD consoles.

MadWorld wouldnt have sold better on the HD systems, its too far of a change graphically, and its not a sequel. There's been little proof of original IP doing well on HD systems. Madworld wouldve done just as poorly on the HD systems. HD gaming fans are set in their ways and would have shunned it regardless.

You failed to mention the lack of success has much to do with leaving Mario out. They should have got rid of the blood... maybe have rainbows and flowers fly out instead. I'm also hearing there isn't minigames.

Funny that you call madworld a lack of success, when its already proven profitable, thus the definition of a success to a business.

btw, no one, and I mean no one on this site is going to take you seriously until you fill out info like age, location etc. Im assuming you're an angsty 16 year old otherwise, and not worth the time to take you seriously

I feel like Sega is putting a spin on the truth. I mean Acclaim, Eidos, Midway, and other companies pulled in those kind of numbers and still failed. I don't know where Sega gets its money but it can't be from these poor sales.

Well it couldn't sell worse.

The PS2 version of Killer 7 says hello.

killer 7 was a crap port of a great gc game.  GC didnt sell well because its too unique.

That part I bolded, that is what I wanted to hammer home with Mad World. The game is unique and that  is what limits its sales. Between the artstyle and intense gore, the game has limited appeal.

This is the other thread discussing bascially the same thing

"It would've sold better on the..."

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

Sega calling the sales "encouraging" does not directly equate to "we made money".  Did they make another statement on the topic that was more explicit, or is this just extrapolation of a single statement?

As above, Cancerous tumour reducing in size is encouraging.  Doesnt mean it is a success yet.

Yeah, wins for most ignorant post, maybe, since he did the exact same thing I did in satire in the OP.

LittleBigPlanet would sell better on Wii, Metal Gear Solid 4 would sell better on the 360, Killzone 2 would sell better on the 360, Valkyria Chronicles would sell better on Wii, Perfect Dark Zero would sell better on Wii... *goes on all day*

What? You want evidence, you say? Proof? Oh, you'll even settle for anything at all to back up my claims with?

Sorry, don't need it. I'll just run around shoving my baseless speculation in people's faces and act like they're facts. That's the easiest way to get a point across, right?

Pretty much every hyped HD console title has at least sold 500k units.

Even those that were considered resounding failures ( Haze, Too Human). Heck even Lair sold 330k and it was released back when the user base was very very small...

No matter how good or bad they are, it's a given a HD title with some hype will sell at least 500k units...( doesn't mean it will make money with those sales though).

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !
