The ps3 is a failure up to this point, and the more negativity people can dump on the ps3 the more likely they want sony out. They are trying to cut the hype out of the ps3, and by that giving them a dis advantage to the wii whcih everyone says is amazing. Oh sony what have you gotten yourselves into...

This is just one of the hundreds of reasons why you don't see comebacks in the videogame industry. The actions of developers, publishers, retailers, cosumers, journalists and analysts tend to ensure that the successful console finds greater success whilst a console that is performing pooly ends up performing worse. I don't think this is a shocking turn of events for anyone except for Sony fans.

I wonder if some of those hundreds of reasons are in the book. Since the guy that wrote the book is a games editor I also wonder if he has some fly-on-the-wall anecdotes or got any good interviews.

I'm really proud of you leo-j.

I wish most Sony fans would react like this.  The PS3 has failed, or at least is no where near what Sony anticipated it to be.  You have to come to terms with reality at some point.  It's ok to be a fan of something (a videogame company) and admit that it has made mistakes.  Last generation, I had no problem admitting that Nintendo made its fair amount of mistakes with the Gamecube, but you know what, I loved that little purple box, and I loved the games on it, and that's all that mattered.  I didn't try to avoid the reality that the PS2 was slaughtering it in sales, and more so, that it was always going to be like that.  I came to terms with that, and I didn't let that bother the love I shared with my little box.

So again, leo-j, thank you for stating that the PS3 has thus far been a failure, for criticizing Sony, and not adding in a "it might be a failure now, but just wait till 08 or till xxx game comes out" type of statement.  Honestly, that's a very noble thing for you to have done.  I've come to expect otherwise from the other Sony fans on this site.
