Forums - Nintendo - Wii Tekken: an Idea for gameplay

IF Tekken comes to the Wii I'd like to see this control scheme instead of boring and dated button mashing via Classic Controller which would be a horrible idea for a Wii version of Tekken.

The only buttons to be used:

A  -  Punch

B  -  Kick

A + B  -  Grab

Z  -  Defend

Analog Stick  -  Move your character/ Jump

Optional: D-pad for custom grabs.

Do you remember the combat system for No More Heroes? It would be similar. So the gameplay should work like this:

Positioning your wiimote parallel to the ground would result on middle body punches, kicks, grabs and whatever.

As you incline it upwards it would gradually throw attacks in upper sections of the body. The same for downwards inclination.

Defense would be done the same way just by pressing Z instead of attack buttons.

It would be awesome in my opinion, and it's not a waggle fest like naruto.

Add Mii Support for custom characters and crowd, online multiplayer and maybe weather channel for rainning/fog/snow on the arenas just for the lulz and you have a million seller and also a control scheme model for upcoming wii fighters, which in my opinion are all horrible including Smash Brawl which is only well playable with Gamecube controller which in my opinion is the most stupid idea for a game on the motion sensing console.

YES, too many "which" but I don't care.

Please play Tekken before you make a suggestion... :P
Tekken uses 4 buttons.. left kick, left punch, right punch and right kick.... by removing the left and right it's not Tekken anymore...

I can kick your ass with Eddy Gordo with my never-ending combo on Tag Tournament - which is the best Tekken for me. My middle name is Tekken.

And the control scheme would work right with auto shifting from left and right punches and kicks.

Pro Evolution Soccer on the Wii its not the same that it was some years agor. But its a control scheme that sh!ts all over PS360 control scheme which, guess what, is exactly the same we had in PSone era.

That's.... NOT TEKKEN....

1 button for - Left Hand, Right Hand, Left Foot and Right foot EACH....
Then you have a D-Pad for movement...
Grabs are done with combonations like a movement such as Down and Right, back, or Forward > Down > Forward-Down [or any movement combonation like this... or no movement] followed by a hand and leg like Left foot and hand button together...

Guard happens automatically if you don't press anything when you're hit with a regular attack. Back is also guard.

What you're describing sounds just as bad as Tekken Advance on the GBA.....

... your middle name is Tekkan and you would introduce guard with Z button? I think averege player who uses sidesteps time to time would send your pussie-like never-ending combo to hell lol

Ugh... so you want to remove all the skill from Tekken and make it a button smasher??

*Looks at Eddy Gordo sentence* ... I see.. you like button smashing.. :P

And yes PES Wii has nice controls.. but they added the traditional controls for a reason in PES 2009... :)

Um...removing the buttons for each individual limb and adding a guard button would mean it's not Tekken anymore. If Namco wanted to do that, they should just create a different fighting game rather than relying on the name "Tekken" to sell.

Oh gawd. -_-

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

I use a never-ending eddy gordo combo

Translates to

I'm cheap and can only win games by exploiting the most broken characters and by using a glitch so that I can beat people in a way not intended by the designers, because I can only do it in an older game that was probably fixed/balanced in the latest game.

Then I have a fit because someone beats me by spamming 1 attack with a different character.

Also, repeat what everyone else said about a button for each limb.

Well, as everyone said, you didn't really describe a Tekken game. I'd like it for another fighting game, maybe a new IP, but not Tekken.

Also, you would not seriously have Miis as the audience for a TEKKEN fight? Seriously...
