Forums - Microsoft - 2010 to be the year of the Xbox 360

Lost Planet 2 won't be exclusive though. I don't think it'll be the year of the 360 but Splinter Cell, Mass Effect 2, Alan Wake and Gears of War 3 will make 2010 a damn good year for the 360. Its best year since 2007.

Its way too early to be talking about 2010. The article only mention Mass Effect 2 as a game coming in 2010 and suggested that rare and lionhead will have games which is just speculation at this point. Also, no one knows what sony or nintendo will have in 2010.

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."

As an Xbox 360 fan, I refuse to A. Live in a world where a man gets shot in the anus, and B. Look more than 6 months or the current year for game releases.

I'll leave both A/B for fans of other consoles.

Tease.

splinter cell

You should be beaten, burned to ashes then someone should throw your ashes from a plane

splinter cell is what im waiting for. the previous SC left the franchine, imo the jhon brown missions spoiled it big time.

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

So far we just know 2 titles for the XBox360 in 2010 so far. That's Lost Planet 2 and Mass Effect2. Both are probably console exclusives or timed exclusives. Gears of War 3 is likely. but the rest is just speculation and I refuse to say that one year belongs to a certain console.

2009 does not look bad either. I don't get the "xbox360 has no games in 09" talk. At the end of the year, we will see Halo ODST. The add-on to the most successful shooter a console has ever seen. And we will see Forza3, the sequel to the most successful Racing Game this generation (except Mario Kart )

and there are multiplat games coming like

  • Modern Warfare2
  • Bioshock2
  • Assassins Creed2

Thos 5 games will probably sell something like 25 million units combined.

Plus some games we haven't heard anything about like

  • Alan Wake
  • Splinter Cell
  • APB

And we do know Rare is working on some titles, so is Lionhead, so is Bungie (Halo ODST was just a small team working on).

So i say, let's finish 2009 first before we talk about 2010. Both years look good to me.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

2010 will be PC year: Diablo III.

in your opinion would the likes of mass effect 2 - lost planet 2 - new rare title - new lionhead title make 2010 the year of the xbox 360?

That's not enuff games to steal the year, but I'm sure we'll get a lot more big exclusive games in 2010 for the X360 than those u listed.

2010 to be the year of the Xbox 360

http://gamer.blorge.com/2009/04/10/2010-to-be-the-year-of-the-xbox-360/

Microsoft has been receiving criticism for the Xbox 360’s seemingly lackluster lineup for 2009. It is almost the half point in the year and very little has been revealed for 2009. However, what gamers may not realize is that Microsoft is building up an arsenal of games for 2010.

Many gamers were expecting a ton of announcements at GDC outlining the lineup all the way up to Christmas. However, the camp over at Microsoft remained silent during the conference. Ideally GDC is a great place for companies to announce games to keep the public at bay during the dry spell which happens mid-year.

We all know that the next big Xbox 360 game coming out will be in September. Of course I am talking about the standalone expansion to one of the biggest games of 2007, Halo 3: ODST. This is one of the games I am looking forward to near the end of the year. Besides that there really isn’t much on the plate this year for the Xbox 360.

However, I have to say that 2010 is starting to look like a killer year for the Xbox 360. There is Mass Effect 2 and Lost Planet 2 already confirmed for 2010. Also, Rare and Lionhead Studios have hinted at a new game currently in the works as well.

The game I am looking forward to next year is Mass Effect 2. I have my game save locked away in my Xbox 360, with at least 100 hours logged to it. With Bioware teasing gamers to hold on to their old game saves, many of those who purchased the original will definitely pickup the sequel. Clearly, the Xbox 360 has a huge jump on the PS3 regarding its game lineup for 2010.

WRONG.
