Good openning for Muramasa, something i expected. Its not a typical big JRPG, it should sell better then Fragile.

Basara PSP sold on day one what previous Basara (Basara X - PS2) managed in its entire lifetime. Not bad.

Muramasa sales are not bad, 16,000 on day one is OK, not as good as Odin Sphere, but better than what some high profile 3rd party Wii exclusives previously managed.
I read an interview with Basara PSP producer (he's also DMC4 producer) yesterday, and he said he'll make more PSP games if this one sells well, so there you have it. :)

amen to that...but hope its soon
Wii will probably be up a little bit this week if Muramasa comes in at above 25,000 for the week. There have only been four third party Wii games in Japan to debut to sales of over 20,000 units in 2009 so something like 20k-30k is a decent result relative to the other games. PS3...normally I'd say it would drop but with the Final Fantasy XIII demo coming on April 16 its plausible PS3 won't drop. Preorders for Monster Hunter G Wii suggest it will do at least 60,000 week one, but the store we get the early info has been low on some third party Wii-hits for preorders (DQ: Swords and Mario & Sonic) so I wouldn't be surprised if its more like 90,000 in preorders already. Even if it isn't low this time, there are ten days or so left for the preorders to rise, compared to only four for FFXIII which is why I'm fairly certain that the FFXIII demo is probably going to do 130k+ week one in the package with Advent Children (although its basically $59 for a movie and a game demo...). I don't think we'll track it, since its just a demo but if PS3 jumps to ~35k that week that is the reason.

I don't think Wii will rise thanks to Muramasa, no way. The game should end up selling less than 25k for the week. Like I said before, it's too early to launch such games on the Wii when there has never been a big core game that was able to attract new owners. Launching these small IP's and others like Takt of Magic or Kizuna which are coming up before MH3 comes out is quite illogical. Looks at how MHP2 worked for the PSP, it did wonders as well as the FF games.
Wii got none except for the Nintendo made games, so most of the core audience are Nintendo fans. I think Wii will stay in the 15 - 16k range for the week, while PS3 will be on the 18k~ range. It's obvious that next week the FFXIII demo will make the PS3 trounce the Wii. The week after. with the MH3 Demo, I doubt sales will go up a lot for the Wii, 25k max, because it's not a console bundle as opposed to the FFXIII Demo. Will be close but PS3 may be able to outsell the Wii during every week of April.
Lastly, I think that 60k for MHG is nothing to get excited about for, looks like a very low number, but was to be expected since it's a very old port with a pay to play system. Wii will not pick up momentum until MH3 is released, but WSR will help a bit.

Bets with Conegamer:
Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Is it definite that VGCHARTZ is not going to track ACC&Demo sales or still undecided.?
