Forums - Nintendo - Silent Hill: Shattered Memories - TONS of details (Wii the LEAD PLATFORM!)

Remember when some of us said great Wii games were going to take a while, due to developers having to turn around due to their way off prediction? Now we are seeing the fruits of them seeing that they mess up.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

I gues wii.ign.com, along with Bozon and Cassamassina lied to us about seeing the game running on a Wii.

It was obviously a PSP hidden inside a Wii case. That's what was going on.

there is no way it could be on the psp?? look at the graphics

what if they are PSP screen shots?

wold your world fall apart, or would you still enjoy the game, assuming it turns out good?

ok i will teach you a trick. if you look at the image and right click you will see it is from a website called GONINTENDO not GOPSP ok so it is obviously wii screenshots. the psp graphics cannot do 3d like this. i have seen a lot of 3d (i have been a gamer for longer than you most likely) so I can tell.

moving on I am shocked they didn't release more information about the plot and storyline I wonder if it is consistance with the current arc

lolz, I really don't see how that even matters.

Hey, EA at one paint was using 360 game footage to advertise their wii game, and people ate it up and never questioned it till it was revealed....whats not to say that the same thing could be happening?

Also, who's not to say that the developer just gave out press pics which are usually beefed up with high amounts of AA, I mean these pics lack aliasing, and all games on the wii have very noticible amounts of aliasing.

You simply can't take a pic, eat it up, and treat it like the bible, one must alsways take screens with a grain of salt, regardless of the platform.

Because the wii is the leading platform and that the psp can not produce graphics like the wii can? Yeah, that's about it. It's not because the wii is weaker then ps3 and xbox360 that it's also weaker then a lame handheld that atm(sony is making some good games for it now though) doesn't even have a great game library? Most wii games look like crap in picture and look a lot better in motion(metroid prime 3, the conduit, etc)

Okay, after having actually read some more of this, I say SCREW THE CONDUIT! I would much rather have this title to represent what the Wii can do compared to The Conduit. This is the kind of game that makes me want a Wii!

The Wii is starting to look attractive!

To be honest , im both wanna play it, and dont want to, i know it wont be as good as the original one on Ps1 , but i also wanna try the new features.

thing i noticed.

Old Harry looks alot better, the one on the left look more like a movie character than a badass character (the one on the right)

The lightning is good and lightning is a big part in silent hill games, i also hope that they dont change the scenery much.

This game is on Wii , PSP , PS2 btw and its made by the same people who made Origins , which is alot better than Homecoming.

oh and could someone explain what "Not hellish but More Icy" means ? , it doesnt sound good.

oh and btw i didnt know back in the 90's there where phones like that , they must change the timeline or else it would be weird. (or is the game not based on times? i kinda remember 1994 mentioned somwhere)

This is a re-imagining of the first game, not a re-make. That's a key point you have to consider. I've never played Silent Hill games, but this looks fantastic, and the development team are treating the Wii with a respect not often seen from third parties. IGN are very positive about it, and had this to say about that screen with the flashlight: "The flashlight looks pretty good in this screen. In motion, you'll be blown away."

Clearly this isn't going to match up to 360 or PS3 style graphics, but it will be a clear step above last gen graphics, hopefully. It's good to see the Wii being used as a lead platform, it's about time third parties treated the machine and what it can deliver with some respect. Hopefully this is just the beginning of what third parties can do with the Wii, and we'll see similar efforts come along soon.

The IGN preview is just gushing

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."

This is by far the most interesting upcoming Wii game I can think of. I might get this one day.

Not a 360 fanboy, just a PS3 fanboy hater that likes putting them in their place ^.^

Looks interesting. I might have to introduce myself to this series with the Wii version

"To love and to cherish, in sickness and in health, for as long you shall be resurrected from death in the church"

Yea, I'm getting this, I've had horrible luck with Horrors, but I loved Clock Tower so hopefully this will be more like that and less like RE(type horror).

I'm Unamerica and you can too.
