I'd just like to respond to a earlier comment about Home being the new hot thing (in fact, I want to respond to all comments about Home). Home will not be a big draw for PS3. It'll be nice for existing owners, but no way in hell will it ever attract people in the way of myspace or facebook as I have seen some argue. Two reasons, it cost hundreds of dollars, and no girls are on it. Lets face it, all social network programs can be boiled down to one thing: Hooking up. Unless PS3 goes down in price and gets a massive influx of potentially horny college girls, Home isn't going to do anything.

People listen to arguments ?????????? WHEN THE HELL DID THIS HAPPEN ??????????
People will listen to them selfs, than maybe let other people talk a bit, but only so they can talk again.
I think we need a more constructive thread, we need to start at zero, we need to find out what factors sell consoles and how important each factor is, as long as everybody is just talking at each other and not with each other there will be no agreement. But thats just my opinion..... and we all know what opinions are like.....

Once the price drops to $400 and the "big four" (GT5, MGS4, FFXIII, and Tekken 6, all 4 mil. plus sellers on average) hit next year, the ps3 will begin to dominate the 360 in sales across the globe. |
Now there's a classic moment. The exact things I said in my above post (concerning the fanboy argument vs. math and deductive reasoning) and it took only one response to get it. Did you even bother to read my post above yours? I shouldn't have even wasted my time typing all that crap in and pulling the numbers as no-one is going to listen to logic or reasoning anyway.

you want one thread to rule all threads, one thread to find them.
if that thread existed, we could lose 1/2 of the threads on this site.

so if you say PS3 will dominate : u are a fanboy
so if you say Xbox360 will stay 2nd : u are logic
so logical,
the same people that believe the history repeats itself and that make preddiction sales using current sales rate (lol)
PS3 will dominate, it will take time, but it will dominate
Time to Work !
It wont, the ps3's sales will start dropping, and the wii will take away all there custumers, so sony is doomed for good.
2008 end of year predictions:
PS3: 22M
360: 25M
wii: 40M
@ kn: What did I just say ??? A good old argumentation with facts will get you nowhere. All people care about is what they see as relevant. If I like the PS3 lineup of next year, everybody must. If I think a console is worth more than 400$, everybody must, I sayed it once and I´ll say it again, you can´t argue with people who don´t belive in argumentation. You have to accept facts and other people oppinons if you wan´t your own oppinion to become valid. I have very little insight in many of these debates, but I listen to what others say and I don´t think my oppinion counts more than that that of anyone else. I hope I am not allone with this attitude.
@TWRoO: Yeah, somehow I belive in people finding common ground and the ability build on things everybody belives in, yeah I´m pretty insane that way :)
@ libellule: Nobody is saying the PS3 can´t take down the 360...with time... but that you still belive in domination..... that is delusional. Domination means getting total 3rd party supprot. Even if the PS3 takes down the 360 Xmas 08 with a rampage (which is mathematically almost impossible) 3rd parties would take till 2010 to bring the full support... and we are not even talking about the Wii here. Belive it or not, the time fore domination like what the PS2 did is lost and gone for the PS3. Not a snowmans chance in hell.

Sorry, I meant it will dominate in monthly sales, not sales overall. It will take a long time for the ps3 to catch up to and pass the 360. It will be at LEAST 2-3 years from now before that happens.

Your not worth my time.
