Way back in 2005, Koei showed off an action game for the PS3 called Ni-Oh.  While specifics on the game were hazy at best, the game was about a group of monks assigned to protect Buddha.  Ni-Oh is based off a script of a movie penned by the famous Japanese director Akira Kurosawa.  The movie, which was set to be Kurosawa's sons directoral debut, was cancelled, and after no new info on the game for several years, many wrote the game off as well.

However, the latest Famitsu confirms that the project is still in development, exclusive for the PS3.  Koei is devoted to making Ni-Oh a game that everyone can enjoy, but details outside of that are still slim.

Why does the thread title say "new"?

If they are wanting to make a game that everyone can enjoy, why are they making it only for PS3 users? I somehow doubt that the game will "only be possible on the PS3" as Koei arn't exactly known for their groundbreaking graphics. I assume they are going with the assumption that creating an exclusive generates more excitement, and therefore hoping to cash in on that. To be honest though, i'd just be happy with a true next gen Dynasty Warriors, and not a minor graphical upgrade from the PS2 versions.

Kurosawa Akira is a god - I hope they manage to translate his (with a doubt fabulous) script into a compelling game experience

this game looks crap they should make it multiplatform if the want decent sales

so if its crap then they should shove it on the Xbox ?
