Forums - Nintendo - Cammie Dunaway is going to be at E3!!!!!

Wow, I was mildly bored watching the video, but the last 3 seconds really shocked me. I want to believe that IGN took her out of context (e.g. if she wasn't done talking), considering how they sometimes seem a bit pissed off at Nintendo, but it doesn't really make sense for them to do that, so the only other option is that .... what we saw was exactly what she meant to say, which is really disheartening.

Last year's e3 was legendary.

All those gifs and youtube videos...
I've never laughed so hard at something game related.

Oh but I have.  Genji in Sony's conference still brings me the laughts

"The game is based on actual events in Japanese history... so here's a giant enemy crab".

ROFLMAO.

There's a really funny youtube video of Sony's conference summed up in 1 minute, and for some reason it makes everything seem funnier than it probably should have been.

I LOVE the way he says "for massive damage". He says it with a strange accent for some reason, and it just makes me laugh. :P

Last year Reggie said "We have big news and announcements for the core at E3", but the conference ended up being the most hated for most Nintendo fans.

This year Cammie says "I hope we have something", while signs of despair show on her face and while she's quite nervous and shakey. I think you get the picture.

I think Nintendo may be a bit out of touch with hardcore hobbyists at this point.  Cammie may be reflecting the hope as in they have things planned, which will continue to lead to world domination (like Wii Fit), but the hope is the hardcore may not like it.  The Wii has the controls down, but that is about it.  They can't compete graphically, or with online play functionality.  They have a niche that leaves hardcore hobbyists not amused.  There are possible risks of the growth getting weakened by high def becoming more important.

I am also feeling that Cammie has no clue as to what hardcore gamers want.  She probably thought what she was doing last year was cool.  She thought black and blue as colors for the DSi is cool either, and then it is, "Don't you guys think so?" to which the hardcore gamer doesn't care, slo long as it isn't girly pink.

So, in regards to E3, I think we are at where Nintendo will again launch stuff that will wow the casual audience and tick off the hardcore hobbyist more.  Or, at least the hope is that they don't.

At least we now know that FF4 isn't going to be unveiled at E3.

I already said it, don't ever get your hopes up over anything concerning NoA. Ever.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.
