I think Nintendo may be a bit out of touch with hardcore hobbyists at this point. Cammie may be reflecting the hope as in they have things planned, which will continue to lead to world domination (like Wii Fit), but the hope is the hardcore may not like it. The Wii has the controls down, but that is about it. They can't compete graphically, or with online play functionality. They have a niche that leaves hardcore hobbyists not amused. There are possible risks of the growth getting weakened by high def becoming more important.
I am also feeling that Cammie has no clue as to what hardcore gamers want. She probably thought what she was doing last year was cool. She thought black and blue as colors for the DSi is cool either, and then it is, "Don't you guys think so?" to which the hardcore gamer doesn't care, slo long as it isn't girly pink.
So, in regards to E3, I think we are at where Nintendo will again launch stuff that will wow the casual audience and tick off the hardcore hobbyist more. Or, at least the hope is that they don't.
